Hi All,

I know this is a rugby league forum and myself am a huge Cas Fan and come from a decent background in Rugby League myself. Iv recently become head coach at our Castleford Rugby Union under 15's side. We today beat Cleckheaton in the quarter finals of the cup to progress and we are really urging new players to come down. We have big sides in the competition with typical Rugby Union backgrounds and us Cas folk are a different breed! If you have a son who may be interested or a grandson, newphew, kid next door or anyone please could you back our cause.

wrong sport .....wrong area !!!!!!!!!

More and more kids are taking advantage of the fact that League is a summer sport and Union a winter one. By way of an example, this years West Hull under 9s team were (arguably) the best in the area. All but 3 of that team are spending the winter playing Union for Hullensions.

East Hull U11s from last year had about 8/9 playing for Hull RUFC.

Ended up being East Yorks Champions hacking off the big wiggs at Ionians, Driff and Pock as they were completely dominated by these RL players!

Got to the quater final of the Yorkshire Cup too ... losing out to a tecnically far better team.

Incidentally the team in RL terms now East Hull U13s have just made it to the Final of the BARLA Yorkshire Cup to be played at 'Post Office Road' 8th/9th Dec against the team that beat them Crigglestone AllBlacks.

Other Hull age group teams still in the frame to be represented - I know West Hull U12s there too!

Should be a great days entertainment.

Are you playing on the 8th or 9th mate? Will be going across to watch the young Wests lads in action but will be good to see that East Hull side. Heard a lot about them.

Hopefully same day as Wests as I know some parents there.. It should become clearer at the weekend but BARLA trying to keep teams seperated re age groups 12,13,14,15s one day and 16,17,18 next... but when there is more than one team from a club they are trying to accommodate both on the same day!
Bit long winded way of saying I dont know!

Easts U13s are a good set and play with some quite advanced game plans for their age - all credit to coaches and the lads themselves. The lads have had pro scouts looking for some time now!
