| I think the game needs shaking up from the top down, otherwise a lot of clubs could find themselves in bother - and how long will Sky hang around with the game in turmoil?

| Quote hullbg="hullbg"Not read through all of this but
Could this be Rovers way of waiting to see what happens with Bradford? If Bradford get reinstated into SL, Rovers then go into liquidation before being taken over by a "Newco" and losing all their debts and then siting the Bradford situation as setting a precedence they get readmitted to the SL debt free. Be daft to sell passes etc if they were going to go down this route as it would be money lost.
I know it is a cynical view but if Bradford are admitted back into the top tier I don't see what the downsides are for clubs with debts to go down the same route.
Just playing a bit of devils advocate
'"
Our debts are either to our directors or underwritten by them. It isn't just a case of hiding from the taxman and taking the 6 point deduction.
I reckon NH and RC would sell me the club for £1 if I had a plan and bank balance that would allow me to take the club forward. The problem isn't debt so much as ongoing losses, which under the current strategy and in the current climate can, I think it is fair to say, be described as structural.
We can't spend the cap on crowds of approx 8k and break even. People talk, with some justification, about failure to generate maximum revenue through merchandise and the lottery and so on. But even if that was more fully optimised it'd only nibble round the edges really - definately not a reason to stop working on it, every little helps, but our core business is rugby not retail.
Basically new management would be faced with the same problems. As they are at Bradford in fact, but there's nowt like a near death experience to make you appreciate what you've got. Wakefield look stronger and happier than they have for a while and not so long ago they were in the poop.

| With all due respect to the people who live around there, what would be the point of a hotel?
There's a great big Premier Inn a couple of miles up the road for anyone travelling to east Hull or Holderness for business.
What sports stadium is Hull lacking?
There's the ice arena for hockey, the KC for Hull, City and major sporting events, Costello for athletics, Craven Park for us and numerous council facilities where Allam can play squash if he's that stuck for a court.

Hotel - no idea on the viability given that the council own CP. Some suggested it was to corner the 'renewables boom' if/when that happens. If a road to Hedon Rd ever materialised - I guess it's an option.
During the tit for tat HCC vs Allam saga - they banned him from Woodford ...
Hull needs a monorail.

I feel his pain, I used to love that wave machine in the eighties.
And yes, a monorail, that would be good, needs to be on big stilts though.

| Not sure why but I keep humming we can see you sneaking out...
To be fair to Hudge, the people that run rugby league are a joke and I have a feeling that this is designed to put some pressure on the Bradford problem. This year the refs, disciplinary panel and administration should all take a long hard look and see what they have achieved this year.
Stobart truck for Hudgell?

Every swimming pool should have a wave machine including the Olympics. I bet the one @ Catalans does.
I remember HDM running a story on Hull's proposed monorail. If only ...
