| Quote Easty="Easty"If you mean the stand name then It sounds a very fitting gesture to a man who has done so much for Hull Kingston Rovers. Without Neil Hudgell we would have no Super League rugby. To me The Neil Hudgell stand sounds GREAT.'"
got to go with this why not have a poll and send the result to rovers

| Lets name it after the company that are prepared to pay most for the naming rights. We can name the bars etc after Rovers legends.

The man who made the decision to sell Hoderness Road for chicken feed and move to the outpost that is Poorhouse Lane and pay massively over the odds for a sub-standard , old design ground , plunging us hugely into debt in the process, a decision that has haunted Rovers since the day it was made...that would be Mr Hutton
Barry Lilley , inept in his own particular way , was chairman much later when we are already bottoming out, his only decision of note , which backfired nicely , was to block Hull from relegating themselves and thereby precipitating the merger with Gateshead, thankfully his own wishes to merge with Hull were thrown out by shareholders...
Perhaps if you had supported us pre Super League or took the time to look into the clubs history you would know what i was talking about...

| He's got a nice smile and a twinkle in his eye though has Mr. Hutton.
Lovely manners too.

| A little bitter there, Larry, surprised you even support the club any more, what with him being a current club president and all.
My first Rovers game was at Wembley in 1997, I was 14 and didn't really want to go, a whole ten years before Superleague.
Oh, and by the way, I just had a little look at the history and it doesn't mention Colin Hutton doing any of the above, I'm not saying it didn't happen but just pointing out that we're not all as old as the houses and there appears to be no evidence other than hearsay.

Yeah, In part, telling someone to read up on the history when it mentions no such thing is a little stupid, though.
We've all heard the stories. The way the history reads, Hull KR weren't really pulling up any trees until Colin Hutton got involved and he's bigged up as being involved in the most successful period in Hull KR's early existence.
He's a great bloke is Colin.

| Some of us where at the shareholders meeting when it was rail-roaded through...a fait accompli if ever there was one...and it was 1988 and i was in my early 20,s so not exactly "as old as the houses"..
Its true many speak highly of Colin and he is very much a "gent" , however that decision set the club back incalculably...and should never be "rewarded"...
And the truth of the matter is that while Colin did have a little success as coach back in the 60's he took over Rovers chairmanship when we were already a top club with everything on a plate for him, he basked in the glory of the 80's great team and then pretty much oversaw the destruction of everything that had been built up...and we are still struggling because of his misguided, some say self interested, decisions...
But i suppose because hes a "great bloke" we can just write off 20 years as one of those things, forget about the subsequent millions of pounds it has cost the club (and individuals) and yeah lets name a stand after him...why not?

My house was built in 1965, not a bad guess at your age, was it?
When did Colin take over chairmanship? Straight after his tenure as coach? I struggle to see how he took over a "top club with everything on a plate for him", Wasn't HKR being a top club, in part, due to his tenure as coach?
