Quote: Seventies red "
Quote: Seventies red "i dont see a move to the kc a good one for us TBH.

i cant see most of the fans wanting it me included.

i think were all in agreement that craven park needs updating ,and we seem to have all our eggs in the erf funding basket.
if this dosnt work out the general feeling is we will have to move??

IMO we should be looking at cutting our cloth accordinly ,
i would much rather see a smaller squad so we dont need to have this 10k through the gate to see the club float on its own
.
why were pushing for this extra stand,s /revenue is all well and good but if it dosnt come off ???
i would rather see us go back to nl1 and rebuild from there and work our way up.
what happens if we do get funding we do get the new corp boxes and a new stand and we still dont pull in the 10k of fans required then were do we stand???

IMHO we need to cut down on costs and get the club running somewere near sustability not just hope and pray we get the stand and get the 10k through the door.
we have a SL licence for the next few years make use of the time we have to get things in order not worry about a new stand if and when it comes.

IF HKR move to the KC im sorry but i wont be going and ive seen rovers through some tough times from the depths of the nl leagues the struggles to get this club back up has been massive and now to throw it all away and move to the KC ..

and im not an old man stuck in my ways either im 34 and have no intention of going to the KC watso ever'"

As i've said before i would sooner stay at Craven park but if it came to the choice of staying where we are and probably dying as a club or playing at the KC and moving forward, then i would choose the latter.
You say you would rather have a smaller squad, this would undoubtedly make us much less competitive and likely to cost us games, especialy toward the end of the season when injuries take their toll, this in turn would probably see gates go down as they generaly do when a club is not performing well, which in turn would leave the club with even less revenue leading to a downward spiral.

You also say that you would rather see us go down to Nat league 1 and work our way up, where have you been for the last few years, thats exactly what we have been doing since around 2005, believe me if we were to go back to that league the club would lose far more fans than what they would by going to the KC, how many fans do you honestly think would follow the club back to that division?, i mean, who do you think would put any money into a club with such lack of ambition?, plus, not to mention the loss of sponsorship, in my opinion the club would cease to exist as a major force in the game and would probably never gain a super league licence again.
Anyway, hopefuly we wont need to worry about any such situations, ive just heard that talks went well today between Neil Hudgell and the council.'"

im well aware of were we came from i was one of the 1000 or so that turned up to see a part time team wade its way through year after year trying to survive.

just asked your self the question if this stand is built do u think the club will achieve the break even figure been touted about???
if we moved to the kc what kind of crowds do u think we could achieve???.

Quote: Mrs Barista "Perhaps, but there have been some pretty poor "investments" that could have been better channelled into improving infrastructure as per franchise commitments. Willie Mason. Automated turnstiles that require, er, manning. Kooga kits that run in the wash and have to be replaced. Too long a contract given to Justin Morgan. Overseas training camps. Few quid there that wouldn't have impacted retention of SL status.'"

Ah hindsight - missed Paul Cooke out tho

We actually knocked our Dubai trip on the head if I recall - had some great fun @ 'Saltend' in the process (gratis that one)

I guess if the turnstiles (or to be more precise manual scanners) have stopped fraudulent tickets - then that's a good thing and worth while investment.

Kooga - a bit desperate that one

To the point where the crossroad directions are either your chairman walking or adding a further £2m liability to the already creaking balance sheet? OK chief. icon_cool.gif

Community centre?

I thought the plans were for a business and enterprise development centre, not somewhere where pensioners can play bingo and have a knees-up

Cheers cod - had no idea what the official title was.
Sounds a lot better than a community centre, I must say
