Well that just topped off a s#@t week, trust Rovers to fail me when I needed them. The performance highlighted a few ongoing problems for me. JM may have done a great job for us, but, despite being a prop himself, he has repaeatedly failed over the years to get some beef in our pack. We get out-muscled on a fairly regular basis, and not just against top class packs.
Murrell wants sacking off after his pathetic defensive efforts on the line. Apart from being self-appointed cheerleader when the opposition knock on (I mean, what's the point?), what is his function in the 17 these days?
Oh, and if anyone needs evidence as to why Welham should never be near an England shirt, check out his defensive efforts. Windy gyt.
I'm off back to bed.

Both Hull and Rovers have an incredibly small chance to become Champions. Too small to be a concern in fact. And there's only one team from the lower half of the table involved. Given that the difference between 7th and 8th place is one whole point it's arguable if that's worth worrying about either.
Finishing top gives you the opportunity to pick who you play in week 3. That seems to be a significant advantage to me.
The team in 4th place gets two shots at getting through. The team in 5th doesn't. Another significant advantage IMO.
A top 6 playoff wouldn't work in a 14 team league. If you want to go back to the top 6 we'll have to go back to a 12 team league - no bad thing IMO. |
