| As a loyal Queenslander I was shocked and disappointed when Big Willie came to the Cowboys last year. He had a terrible reputation and had done nothing for the Roosters in 2009.
I am happy to say I was proven wrong and wish he was still with us in 2011. He was very professional and gave his best every week in a losing team. He is really motivated and excitable and will give the team enthusiasm.
I reckon you have a great signing, and in a few weeks he will be playing good football for Hull.
When he came to Townsville he was booed on to the field for his first game. By the end of the season he was a crowd favourite and everyone loved Big Willie. He is about as bright as a five watt light bulb but very frank and honest in his media interviews so they are actually very funny.
I remember at an away game in Canberra one of the wags in the crowd had a sign that said. COWBOYS CAN KEEP THEIR BIG WILLIE BECAUSE WEVE GOT A BIG TONGUE. (Their hooker was and still is Allan Tongue).

Thanks for dropping by.
Nice to have some recent input into Willie's attributes, although it does tend to contradict the well-held view that he's past it and only here for the cash.

Judging by Willie's first up performance, if he is only doing it for the cash and he is past it then you must be paying him a lot of cash. Clever move by your club I would say.

| If all Aussies/Tongans/Kiwi's came over here and played like Willie did in his first outing I don't think there would be too many problems with pensions being payed!
Leeds have Lauitit, Wigan had and now Salford have Feka, Bradford for years had Vagana and other successful clubs have these big units that can offload in impossible situations. I am quite sure that with a fully fit squad Rovers can challenge.
As a side note, while he was playing I kept thinking he is like a fitter Michael Smith! Massive, difficult to tackle and a very accurate offload! For anyone that wants to have a go about Smiffy just remember he was being talked about for selection for NZ while playing in the National Leagues!!

| Mason will only get better the more game time he gets, even when rovers took him off, he was pacing up and down the touch line like a lion stalking its prey, great to see him finally here, yeah he may have a bad reputation in some areas of the game, but on his first game here he did well, lets see how the next few weeks go, when we come up against better teams, we can use the next few weeks to bring him up to speed.

Tell you what there are not too many people who like a tipple that haven't had a pee in the street, just unlucky he got caught once by police and secondly by a snap happy RL supporter that was none too fond of Willie Mason!
Can't condone running from a taxi but he was young and again drunk. His spat with the Doggies too was well publicised but then how many other players have had spats and it's not recieved half as much attention?!
Everything is blown out of all proportion because Willie is a class player who is not only able to talk the talk but he can walk the walk. The most hated man in the NRL but soon to be the most loved man on East Hull!!!!

| I'm all for it depending on the timing of it. The last thing either guy or their respective clubs need is to get injured especially when there's such a high risk in their normal line of work. Wasn't it a bone of contention between Willie and his club when he was at the Bulldogs?
