| Motu Tony is a funny case. He actually got worse as his career went on. He debuted for the Warriors in 2001 and had a great first game. Played consistently for the rest of the year but was never the same player after 2001. By the time he went to the Superleague in 2004, he was a shadow of his former self. Maybe it’s because of the injuries. In saying that, he never looked like a natural footballer if you know what I mean.

He's playing where he is to prove his fitness after pretty much 18 months out of the game. He's still young enough to bounce back too.
I'd snap Motu up back at FC in a shot if he proved his fitness.

disagree, he had an awesome 2006 for us and was our player of the year IIRC. He was great throughout his spell for us, it was just the last 2 years of injuries that meant it was time to move him on.

Indeed. But that's exactly what he's trying to do. If he played all next season in NL1 and didnt miss any games i'd take a chance on him the year after to play 9 with Houghton when Berro goes.

On this occasion, Mullen's not to blame, the quoted article being on the BBC. However, he does tend to get far more wrong than right! G. Horne to Rovers was another classic, along with the arrival of Clinton at the fans forum!

| In these times were coaches do like having utility players in their squads, a fully fit Motu Tony is perhaps one of the finest examples of a good utility player as you can get. I don't think there can be many players who cover hooker and full back, and anywhere in between. On his day, as good as anyone. I was always frightened to death when he was at the back and had a propensity for letting the high ball bounce. But as another poster has written, that try in the CC final 2005 was pure genius.

We have Ben Cockayne, plays FB, Wing, Centre, Hooker and Loose man. He will play in any position to a good standard, he rarely gets injured (unlike MT) and now his head has cooled down, he looks a much better player.
Ben is still a young lad and has proven he will give 110% everytime he pulls on our shirt, much better option than Tony IMO.

Other than the last 18 months Motu's injury record isnt too bad. I think he's a better player when fit than Cockayne in all of the positions you named.
