To be fair to Roger Millward, we were well served in the backs at the time with the likes of Hallas, Sullivan, Watson, Bishop, Parker etc all matchwinners. But what we lacked was a big prop to play alongside Neibling. The Goulding signing made sence and he was never as bad as people make out.
In my opinion the bigger mistake was releasing Tony Botica and Colin Armstrong.
