Yes there is. Assault on a police offcier is a seperate offence under section 89 of the Police Act 1996.

Surely if it was purely a safety issue as the police keep saying, they should have their cameras on the other side of the road, to catch people speeding into a 40 mph zone, rather than as it is, leaving a 40mph zone going into a national speed limit zone.
