Quote Larry Billey="Larry Billey"You obviously have the same mentality as Morgan if you think doing "well" is conceding 46 points to a severey depleted , out of form, struggling Huddersfield who had lost five of their last seven (inc to Wakefield..)..
You do realise that we spend the same amount of money as those teams on our squad..??? I think that gives the fans and more importantly , the blokes financing it , every right to think we should be competing with those teams.....perhaps it is the oft repeated mantra of survive, consolidate, challenge...well we are well beyond that point but look further and further away from challenging for anything..perhaps it is the same old bull that Morgan and some senior players, who should know better ,come out with every year about getting to Wembley or Old Trafford...why would anyone think we should not be competing with these teams.., what is the point of spending upto the cap if we dont think we can compete, why is someone wilfully spending money on rubbish if we cant compete..????
Unfortunately it looks as though the legacy of Morgan will be to leave us struggling in the mid to lower reaches of SL for a few seasons at least...'"
I don't think Huddersfields squad was so depleted, don't mug yourself. Brough and Robinson, Faiumu, Crabtree, Cudjoe, McGillvary... Not a bad side at all, looking to return to winning ways.
It's easy to say they've spent the same money and expect us to be as good, doesn't work like that though, does it?
Firstly - We were on full cap [iwith [/iWillie Mason, He's not playing though, is he? So I would have thought our squad, although we have spent the cap is not a full cap squad.
It's been pointed out a few times, If a player has the choice to come to Hull KR or St Helens for the same money, they would go to Saints, naturally... So it's not hard to work out that the majority of our squad, if they'd had a similar choice have chosen Rovers because we offered more money to them.
