| Got mine yesterday.
It's one of those games where on your first few plays you think WTF is this crap but if you take the time to get used to controls and their timings, there is a lot of depth to the gameplay. Especially using the side view.
I had a match online yesterday which ended up 18-6 and there were tries from a grubber kick to the corner, a bomb which was fumbled by the defender in the air, a wrapped up attacker near the try line reaching out and putting it down over the line and a 30 metre break with a pass to a supporting player when the fullback tried to tackle him.
When you kick the ball, you can hold down X, (on the Xbox), and the player nearest to where the ball is going runs straight to it, which makes great tries from kicks possible. At the same time goal line defence is a lot better. Every tackle near the try line is either an attempt to shove them back away from the try line, hold them up or pull them into touch. No longer do you tackle them into the in goal area for a try.
I would honestly recommend this game but don't just play 3 matches, think "This is garbage," and stop playing. There is a steep learning curve but when you have got to grips with it, the basic gameplay of rugby league has been nailed. That isn't just me wishing it to be good because I'm a RL fan, my housemate who isn't into RL is enjoying it too. I can't reiterate enough though that side view is the view to use.

Have you bought an Australian Xbox 360 version of the game and it plays on your UK console?

| Quote: hydejr1986 "For the PS3 it is definitely 100% compatible as there is no region protection on PS3 software. I have imported games from all over the world such as America and Canada with no problems what so ever. It is only the Xbox that is region protected.
One thing you will need to do though is ensure you have a HDMI connection to your TV. I may be wrong about Aus/NZ software but I kno with US/Canada games if you try and play it through a PAL connection it won't appear in colour as it is NTSC. HDMI over comes all these issues tho!
Hope that helps mate!'"
Can someone explain this to me please. Im not really technical on this stuff. is HDMI a HD lead? and from those whove got the game are there problems with using it if you dont have HD cables.
Considering buying it from Aus but dont want to get it if it doesnt work or if its not compatable with future updates. If I get this is it going to work just like the version that will be released here? If so I think ill buy it!

HDMI is just a way to transmit data and uses a HD cable like you say. If you connect your system to a TV with a HD cable then you won't have any issues with games that are NTSC. By the sounds of it tho Aus/NZ games are PAL too just like here in the UK so they will work on your system without the need for a HD connection.

Well the simplest way I can explain it and I hope I don't sound patronising, apologies if so mate but in the UK our TV's use whats called PAL (Phase Alternate Line) to basically show the pictures on the screen (the colours, resolution etc). In America their TV's use NTSC (National Television System Committee) which is similar to PAL and does the same job but is a different system. Think of it like a language. Lets say our TV's speak English but American TV's speak Spanish. Both are effective languages and do the same job but are different from each other. Therefore in the past if you bought a video from America it would not work here in the UK. The same applies for games too. Unless you use a HD connection/cable that is as this acts like a translator or a language they both can speak.
All that would happen if you tried to use a standard PAL connection with a NTSC game is that you might not get a colour picture or the resolution would be screwed up or even not get a picture at all.
I hope that makes sense mate. You shouldn't have any problems if indeed Australia use PAL but if at any point you import software from America or Japan etc then make sure you are using a HD cable to connect your system to the TV.

The more you play you will find that Easy becomes a joke and medium becomes frustrating. I am doing a season with Bradford on medium and I just beat Harlequins 36-0 but some of my other results have been too low scoring to be realistic; 7-6 vs Wakey, 6-0 vs Cas and 6-6 vs Warrington. Then the next game the score is 24-18 vs Leeds. It makes no sense why some games are fair and realistic and others are too difficult n tight.

| How long do you play your games?
I play 20min matches, and have had results on medium as:
Leeds 30-0 Cas
Wire 7-6 Cas
Bradford 28-12 Cas
Hull KR 18-18 Cas
Hull FC 18-6 Cas
Struggling like mad but cant play on easy as I played 1 game against KR and won 38-0.
Online is proper laggy 2 I think.
Im still enjoying it though but when they update it, they need to make a few changes.

I play 20 mins too mate but I am getting increasingly frustrated with the inconsistent performances. At home my team is really dominant but away from home I am getting beat by the likes of the Crusaders!!! It seems that their players have a speed boost too on medium and trying to score from within 10m is just pointless.
Online is very laggy you are right mate, the game is also spoiled by people quitting whenever you take the lead
