jeffb: Na, that's not it. Works fine for me on this new game with other things running. I also tried the dodgy file with things in and out of the background, and the result of failure insued each time.
GingerWiganer: It's in tactics somewhere I think.

Just happened to me with East Lancs Lions  Good job I had saved after the Championship GF. Get to the 20 something of November, click advance and the game closes  |

When your in the match, at top next to where you make your interchanges there is a Tatics option, you can change goal kicker on there.

There will be a patch as Alex has pointed out different bugs and is going through them. I doubt it will be long before the patch comes out.

I had the same thing....think you will have tried to release an immovable player in the academy who mysteriously doesnt leave the club!!!!
I had it twice with wigan in 2010 and it seems to be a glitch in the game when terminating a contract of a player in the academy! The player doesnt leave and then it crashes the game as the player is shown as ofloaded but still in the team! Also you cant not play that player in any games you have as if you dont select him he pops up on the selection himself.
You can only get round it by promoting the same player to the main squad and then terminating his contract. Since I did this I got no problems! |

You have to put them into the main squad and then terminate their contract. They should go then. If youve already tried to rid them it will have them appearing as a SH or FB on your selection even when you already have a player there!! 
Stick em in the main team, THEN terminate their contract and then they should go! I only realised after terminating the same guy 5 times (and paying 45k each time for the privelage....only to have him still appear in the listings....took me that long to realise something was up cos thought i must have terminated someone else by mistake!!!....it was only when it kept crashing after it I realised) |
