I was told that the game was unrealistic as Rooney and Ronaldo were too good - i.e. you could virtually shoot from anywhere and score.

You were lied to...
Pro Evo 09 is absolutely awesome, much much much better than the past new gen efforts.
As for Fifa, tried the demo, didn't like it, stick with Pro Evo - each to their own though. |

If you like player's names, correct team names and over-the-top fancy graphics then choose FIFA. If you like free flowing game play, faster and more accurate football then choose Pro Evo.

IMO Fifa 09 beats Pro Evo all ends up. It has better graphics, gameplay and is more realistic.

as a buyer of both every year for god knows how long, I reckon that this years pro evo is 100% better than last years poor effort.
Fifa is still the best, continuing being the best since the release of the next gen consoles

I have PES2008 and was a little disapointed really, was gonna get PES2009 but am a bit unsure, think Im gonna rent the pair then make a desision, see I havent played FIFA since maybe the 2006 PS2 version, when I played PES and never looked back, until now.

The overall feel to Fifa is far superlative in comparison to Pro Evo. The various game modes and online options in Fifa sway it for me.

Yeah - would have to totally agree.
Never thought I'd prefer FIFA over Pro Evo - played both on my brother's 360 around xmas time : then when i got my own machine recently, there was little doubt which of the two I'd buy.
Do not be put-off by the innumerable problems with the old FIFAs (being able to take on all eleven players and never miss thanks to unmissable sweet spots) it has learned a lot from Pro Evo and is now probably the best football game ever made - the licencing/graphics etc. which used to be the sole plus points, are now the icing-on the-cake. |
