am i mis-understanding something here?
you get a point for making the 17 but "You must select a full team of 13 players and a coach to score points. Any players not making their respective sides starting line-up will score no points."

Correct. It has been that way since the competition started. If a player you have selected in your FANTASY 13 makes the cut in REAL LIFE 17 then you will earn a point for said player making an appearance.
