Quote: gnidir "If this is true, I can now elaborate of some of the shady happening which have "allegedly" been going on. I have it on good authority that players have not been getting paid. Neither have staff.
Ron Carr has aparently resigned on health grounds, but alegedly, in personal phone calls revaeled he did so as he was being asked to do things with club finances he simply couldnt do.
The money from the Leeds game was "allegedly" never put in the Panthers bank account.

I would allege that these problems come from the same source, a man who has previously managed to bankrupt Leigh, and is possibly the dodgiest businessman i have ever had the misfortune to hear about in our sport.

I hope someone comes in with a sounds business model for the club and continues the good work that the likes of Nick Settle are undertaking in the area.

As for Mr Hope, i think the phrase is "C U Next Tuesday"'"

Thats similar to what i was told apart from the ron carr part. Heard maybe something in the pipeline so guess we will have to wait and see. Lots of people have done good work so lets hope it not been for nothing.

The best way forward at this level is to do what we are doing at Doncaster.
No play=No pay and pay only what you can afford.
Ok we are still third bottom, but at the beginning of the season we had nothing but we have steadily improved as the weeks have passed and are coming along nicely.
We have an improving team and a little bit of cash in the bank, i firmly believe that this is the way to go for the future of semi pro RL.

Couldn't agree with you more Rupert, the sooner clubs adopt that mentality across the board the better the game will be for everyone.

Sadly though, there are always one or two dreamers who choose to ignore common sense and then everyone else is struggling to compete.

In the world of mules there are no rules. Search Google, Twitter or iTunes for Super League Pod, a UK based rugby league podcast, by fans for fans.:

No play

We had this system until the ego came along. It is actually something MC strongly believed in, he brought it in to the club when we were making steady progress but you can't operate it under a superstar system that hope wanted. Quicker we get back to it the better!

I hope you survive this storm. It would be a sad day for RL to lose Blackpool.
Keep the faith and build a club steadily and sustainably.
All the best from a Donny fan.

Bang on the nail mate, absolutely spot on.

Let's just pray the situation is recoverable and that MC and the players can see the bigger picture.

Donny are where we were 18 months ago- this is the blueprint that all of the smaller clubs should be following (Skolars, Blackpool, Donny, Gateshead, perhaps even Swinton)- pay as you play, build a team/squad and don't pay over the odds for a 'superstar'. It is possible to run a club off 300 or so fans, but finances have to be well controlled and targets kept realistic- finishing 1 place further up the table is still progress!

Just read in Dave Parkers rumour column in The Sun that Hope has resigned on health reasons (convenient excuse regardless whether it is true or not) and the CEO has gone (Ron Carr i guess). A squad meeting was held this week and ALL THE CONTRACTED PLAYERS ARE NOW FREE AGENTS!!! The vultures will now be circling! MC is also available should something come along.

Here's something you may not know- John Chadwick is the partner of Les Dawson's widow Tracy!

Pay as you play? Thats is we have any players left come sunday !!! Guess we will find out who want to play for the club and who doesnt. As one former player quoted to me about blackpool panthers fan "best fans in the country" Lets see if the players appreciate our support and put rugby before money !!! I appreciate some of the players have family etc to support so we arent expecting a long term commitment but its a time like this we should all stick together.

Very few players at this level are on any sort of serious contract, so even those that were contracted aren't going to be likely to get the same money anywhere else in CC1.

If we can revert to the sort of match terms on offer last season I suspect a good number of the players will stay, as they won't get better terms anywhere else.

Those contracted on OTT money (by CC1 standards) though will undoubtedly look to get fixed up elsewhere, which isn't a surprise. Let's face it, the only reason players such as Hemingway, Ballard etc were attracted to Panthers was because of the contracted terms offered, they will soon be back in the Championship I'd have thought.

We'll just have to wait and see but I do expect we'll have a slightly different looking team on Sunday.

Dont know the ins and outs so i guess it lets wait and see. Think MC has been a big influence on attracting players so maybe that should be our main concern at the moment and to keep the club afloat and running. Not long left to go in the season so lets see what we can achieve then hope the club come up with a good business plan to run the club within its means.

YOU CAN LEARN FROM THE PAST BUT NOT RELIVE IT.YOU CAN HOPE FOR THE FUTURE BUT CAN NEVER BE SURE THERE WILL BE ONE.:

Good luck to you all , it`s bad news indeed. Why don`t you post info about your games on all sites ,I am sure you would get some of the rugby league family attending if their own club hasn`t got a game. It`s a good day out at Blackpool and we havn`t a home game for a month you have nothing to lose.
