| have been told that mr hope has resigned with immediate affect, owing to financial troubles at the club, apparantly he was the one footing the wage bill, and was no longer prepared to put the money in as crowds werent bringing in the money he hoped, john chadwick has taken over temporarily, wages have been slashed to compensate at the moment, but the looming prospect is administration if things dont improve, the census is the squad will be trimmed drastically and most probably MC wont be with us next season.

| Lets just hope some sort of sensible contingency is put in place before it all blows up completely! Trim a few unnecessary luxuries from the squad and replace with dual reg signings whilst we still have a coach super league clubs might trust with their players.
Undo the apparently planless indulgences of the Hope era and get back to that solid base the club were starting to build this time a year ago. Looks like his ego was bigger than his desire to build a sustainable rugby league club on the fylde coast. Rather get a picture of himself with the Halliwell's or Hemmingway's in the paper than plan a future for the sport in the area.
got to feel sorry for those who have worked so hard in the last 18months/2years - Martin, Nick, John Chadwick himself.

| It was always going to happen at some stage, glad it's been sooner rather than later.
Will be interesting to see what team we put out on Sunday, but as long as the players want to be there and will give 100% for the shirt I'm not bothered who it is.
It was fun up to a point whilst it lasted, but lets face it, there was no long term realistic plan. It was nowt more than an unsustainable ego trip for a dreamer.
Hopefully we can get back to where we were last August without too much damage being caused.
MC, hang in there buddy....

| Lets hope now us fans can have a say in what goes on in the coming months. Nows the time to get involved and the fans trust idea might be a viable. Lets hope martin and the lads that want to play stay with us and finish the season. John chadwick in charge? Nice guy so lets see what he comes up with

| What a surprise eh, could see it coming as soon as i read his letter
Yes some players will give 100% like they always do and most want to be there, but i know for a fact some players have paid and some have not so thats going to effect the team for a start ,
Quite a few of the players have to get special time of work and re arrange shifts etc to play most weekends so if they are not getting paid i bet they really feel like giving 100% would you
All this has been going on for a few weeks hence the results on the pitch

If you think he is your saviour don't hold your breath. He was one of four directors at Oldham, who in a few seasons managed to sell Watersheddings from under us for a pittance and bankrupt us. Only now 13 years on are we beginning to lay down some firm foundations again. Also after the game on Sunday this man had the nerve to slag off our new ground, we accept it is far from perfect, but it just shows the type of person he is that he would want to stick the knife in after his involvement.
Would you trust this man with the future of your club - I wouldn't trust him to clean the toilets at the club.
I do hope Blackpool can sort it out and remain a competitive team in the division. Unfortunately it shows that the Sugar Daddy template isn't sustainable as they get tired of throwing their money away eventually. We sufferred the same issue at Oldham last year.
Good luck sorting it lads, but supporter involvement may be preferable to Chadwick.

| Think Chadwick was doing a solid job until Hope rocked up- slow affordable progress. Although it was good fun for half a season, this short period of indulging Hope's ego has left the club in a very precarious position. I also seem to remember that last years board of directors resisted Hope's advances last season, but felt they had no choice for this season- may be they were worried it may all end up like this.
Even if a few of the luxury players were off-loaded, I get the feeling a lot of the 'squad' players had their wages bumped up by Hope compared to what they were previously on. The consolation that can be taken from the situation is the Leeds game- a second string was put out there, and that team would be competitive in Champ 1.
Can see Hemmingway & Ballard going soon as would imagine they are on big wages & can get a club elsewhere pretty easily. I would say that Hobson would go as well, but he is facing a long suspension, so no other club will want him in the short term. Would like to keep hold of Ainscough as he is awesome, but again can imagine a number of clubs will be after him and we won't be able to afford his wages. No idea what we will do with Marsh & Best as we have yet to see much of them this year, but obviously have been paying them. Halliwell can go tomorrow as far as i'm concerned. Hope we can keep Holland on as I can't imagine that he was paid much at Wigan before he came across permanently.
Perhaps the Wigan dual-reg players will stay on which will provide a strong backbone to the team during the re-shuffle of players that will happen between now and the end of the season. I would imagine MC is leaving as isn't he now full-time and obviously the club will not be able to afford to keep him in a job after the end of the season.
Considering the above, some of the rest may stay on for the rest of the season as there is still a good chance we can stay in the play-offs and perhaps even get promotion.

Thanks for your support. Think chadwick is short term but good of him to step up at this time no matter whats happened in the past. I was at the game on sunday and you have the beginings of a good set up at oldham and looked like the support to back it up. Its yours and you have something to build on, best of luck.

| There's one thing for sure, Chadders is no sugar daddy and will only spend what's affordable. No doubt those that were only in it for the money will move on, but we'll probably be in a better long term position, certainly more stable and sustainable.

cant say much more but i think wheels are in progress with regards new investors/management. One things for sure supporters needs to be involved in future. Least then we will know whats going on before this ever happens again like it keeps happening

| Good to hear that things may already be happening but people coming in must be realistic in their aspirations.
I always worry when I see the word "investors" as any investor usually expects to the see a return on their investment.
There is no return in RL, you just keep paying out!
As long as people realise this when they go in it's fine, but if they expect a monetary return they are dreaming
If the return is he satisfaction of watching the club grow that's fine, but anything else doesn't happen in the real world.
Hopefully we can keep the nucleus of the squad together and still have a half decent pop at the playoffs, but it's obvious the big money signings won't be hanging around.

| If this is true, I can now elaborate of some of the shady happening which have "allegedly" been going on. I have it on good authority that players have not been getting paid. Neither have staff.
Ron Carr has aparently resigned on health grounds, but alegedly, in personal phone calls revaeled he did so as he was being asked to do things with club finances he simply couldnt do.
The money from the Leeds game was "allegedly" never put in the Panthers bank account.
I would allege that these problems come from the same source, a man who has previously managed to bankrupt Leigh, and is possibly the dodgiest businessman i have ever had the misfortune to hear about in our sport.
I hope someone comes in with a sounds business model for the club and continues the good work that the likes of Nick Settle are undertaking in the area.
As for Mr Hope, i think the phrase is "C U Next Tuesday"

Thats similar to what i was told apart from the ron carr part. Heard maybe something in the pipeline so guess we will have to wait and see. Lots of people have done good work so lets hope it not been for nothing.
