Both played well, imo, and made yards in the collision, Fash got the MoM (although personally I'd have given it to Douglas)

Fash was given the MoM & Washbrook had a decent game also.

Some reflective thoughts ...

We need more of the sort of go forward we were getting from Brad Fash and Brandon Douglas, we are still a little short in forward power. Jordan Cox should help in this respect whilst we are missing Brad England and Frankie Mariano.

I accept that we lost two influential players but we have to be structured and disciplined enough to cope in such adversity - we have other players who can and need to step up.

The 'maverick' style of play attempted by one player yesterday does not appear to sit well with the rest of the team (and hopefully the coaching staff). If anything it seems to make the opposition raise their game (I know some of it wasn't pretty).

Workington will almost certainly come to do much of the same (let's use the word physicality) and again take us out of our comfort zone.

Quite a bit for the coaching staff to work on this week IMHO.

The turning point was the disallowed try by Brandon Douglas. I don't think Hunslet would have come back had that been given. No sooner had it been chalked off than Hunslet scored at the other end.

We didn't look dangerous enough when we moved the ball about. For the most part, gaps weren't appearing and Hunslet had things covered.

I agree with Wanderer's comments about Brad Fash and Brandon Douglas. They made good metres on impact. I'm looking forward to seeing Jordan Cox next weekend. I hope Brad Fash plays too.

We need to be strong in the pack against Workington or else they could well repeat what they did to us at the end of last season.

Funny how refs can spot a double movement but not a punch ...

The more so think about that game the more I shake my head. For instance, didn't we lose the ball straight away after Beryl's 40/20, but fortunately they knocked on?
We were inept, not just Hakim and his stop/start bunny hopping nonsense.
If there isn't a policy on taking easy 2 pointers and drop goals etc there needs to be.
Can't leave in to individuals or the guy who happens to have the ball at the time.
It's a team game and part of that team and active during the process is the coach.

Looks like another gentlemanly match for Hunslet against West Wales last weekend: two sendings off (Reece Dean for Hunslet) for punching plus two sin binnings for running in.

Seems to be that rough-housing your opponents is this season’s tactic.

Reece Dean was the one that swung a punch at Miloudi and went unpunished.

Seems ironic that Danny Nicklas will be the only 1 from the Hunslet game to pick up a ban & that was for dissent.
