Quote: Jemmo "PS I was happy with Waterman, Welham, Leaf, Waller in the most part'"

Leafy putting in one of his 'knocking a massive player on his backside' runs in as well yesterday was a highlight.

Well it looks like we will have to rely on the goodwill of Hull to extricate us, because with Wilko in bother with his knee we are sadly lacking in the creative department.
I thought we had a tough looking fixture list at the start of the season anyway and that was assuming we had a half decent side.
After yesterday, I think we are in big trouble.
A side runs on confidence. Our confidence was absolutely shattered yesterday.
I have got to take my hat off to Hunslet ... they are ready for the start of the season ... we are NOT!

I remember getting beat by Hunslet and North Wales in recent preseasons. They went on to get relegated and we made the play offs.

Hunslet probably won't make as few mistakes as that in a game for 12 months and we probably won't play as bad until this time next year.

It means nothing other than the players didn't get fired up for a training session and the coaching staff have a big stick to hit everyone with.

I should probably add; it has not left me without worries. There are a few players I can't imagine playing much this year based on what I have seen in the last few weeks

I was talking to a mutual friend yesterday and we knew you would spin something positive out of this debacle ... funny really ...lol
We were thrashed yesterday at home ... thrashed.

I went to both of those games you mentioned, the Hunslet one was away and we are useless at their place at the best of times and the taffs just beat us at home.
I spent the entire second half in the downstairs bar at Hunslet we were that inept, but I didn't feel quite like yesterday.
Anyway, would you care to make a prediction of how many of the first six games we might win?

I will bet you a couple pints that us against Hunslet in the league will be closer than yesterdays score. I will not on the basis of yesterdays match write us off for the season.

Well let's face it, that's a safe bet, it would have to be closer than 12-42.
You'll have to think of a fairer bet ...how about how many of the first six league games will we win?
We don't have anything without Wilko as you saw yesterday ... so it's up to Hull to loan us some skill while he gets operated on and recovers.
We'll see how we go on against Leeds under 19s.
I will be there come what may ... others won't.

having had 24hrs to ponder about yesterdays thrashing I still feel exactly the same, very dissapointed. Yesterday was NOT a training session it was a cup match for god sake, it was our only chance of getting a win under our belts before the season starts, we were rubbish. Leeds need to send their under 11s not under 19s for us to have a hope. Agree that Leafy ,Wellam, and Waterman gave 100% . I hope we can sort things out for this weekend and show more promise, otherwise were in deep s<<t .

We were dreadful, but I don't think it will have any bearing on the season ahead.

Right my bet for the opening 6 is 3 at least. Glass half full and all that nonsense. My treat if wrong Brian, but not Weatherspoons icon_lol.gif

And your best analysis is? (apart from us being relegated) icon_wink.gif

As for Donny's chances ... it depends on who we get from Hull, when, how often etc.....

I just think that we didn't have much to offer without Wilkinson's cutting edge ...(I've done that gag before!) icon_cool.gif

These young 'uns are going to have to grow up fast methinks.
Twas very much boys against men yesterday.

4 are winnable (well obviously 6 are winnable).

I think we will win 2.

Sorry, too positive.

I Think we will lose all 6 heavily, every try conceded will be followed by at least one person saying they will never come again, several supporters will die while at the stadium and those who survive will be jealous of them. The club will go bust and will all individually be forced to see our first born to pay off the tax bill. The conservatives will win the general election.

Is that better?
