We are not the best side in this league, not even the second best.
Like a Rocky film, we knocked Worky to the canvas and they got up and knocked us out!
They will come to the Keepmoat fearing NOTHING!

Watched todays. Game could not believe the start. But I could not recognize the team for the last 60 as the one we have been watching this season.all credit to worky they played some great rugby.but we just looked .totally jet lagged and well off the pace .if worky keep playing like that.I'm sure they will help us out this year.I would have taken 2nd in the league at the halfway stage.if offered pre season.so lets crack on regardless and see it out. In years gone by, I would have blamed today's defeat on over-indulgence on the amber nectar the night before. Now, with our professional attitude, I'm at a loss to explain it.

Quote: rugbyman "Well after a long journey by the fans, the first 20 mins was great the last 60 was very poor and they didnt deserve anything form the game. Workington to there credit played some good stuff and never stopped trying. Met some Worky fan dimwits today, that left there brains at the breakfast table. I hope on the return game we shove their vile mouths up there booty.

I will not be posting without my specs again, didnt even look like what i wrote. So many edits to correct it. Do they still chant that ridiculous 'Town! Town! Town!' nonsense?
Have they got some new chants yet?

Anyway back to business.
We need to get back on the horse, what's done is done.
Although it is alarming how bad we can be for such a good side.
There were signs in eight minutes of madness against Rochdale at home, those problems still remain by the look of it.
Did Worky's pack beat ours up. Is that what the problem was?
Or did they just have better play makers?
Or both?

I don't think we had better halfs than you as neither set really created anything. Our hooker mattinson bossed the game, then our pack took over. The major concern I would have if I was a donny fan was the conditioning of your side, they were shattered after 20 mins and looking at both sets of players yours were certainly carrying the more excess baggage in weight. Even your backs looked out of shape.

Wonky, will you be coming to Doncaster in July? I think you'll see a different game if you do. T

he Dons are used to playing on a wide flat pitch, rather than a freshly ploughed farmers field. How long was the grass, are you growing it for Hay?

The ground looked down right dangerous to me. How it passes Safety checks by the local council I don't know.

Doncaster didn't travel well. I don't think Workington will either.

Yeah I will come, I did for the 1st game last year, hopefully by then we will both be promoted. Remember we did come to your place last year and won very comfortably. Our stadium may not be very good but it's on the pitch that counts and we were by far the better side. Stadiums and pitches don't win league titles, the 17 who take to the field do. I only come on gloating because when I predicted that we would win by 20 nearly all your fans rubbished it and were very sure of a donny victory. One even suggesting we would need 60 to beat you.

Now I have been saying as much myself.
Not that anything like that goes down well you understand. icon_lol.gif
We played an amateur side in the CC and looking back through the photos (by Donny our man with the camera )it was clear Sharlston looked leaner and some of our lads looked pregnant.

But I was informed that you can still be fat and fit.
My thought is you can be fat but not fast.

Don't tie the whole town fanbase together, no one should be subject to abuse and as a club we have very little reports of it. People get excited during the game and have a few too many largers on board. This is not an excuse and I hope your not put off visiting derwent park in the future.

I know we are all a bit down after yesterday, but if you was told before the season started that the Dons would be sat second in the table after 9 games. ( i know we have played 1 more than most) with a seven point cushion to the team in fifth you would have been delighted.

I don't think anyone is moaning about that. We are in a good position in the league and as well as Barrow and Worky and Whitehaven (possibly) are playing, they have to play each other and they have to go (or have gone) to Oldham.
So a loss away with a win at home cancels out (bonus points aside).

It's the manner of the loss that is of grave concern.
How many times does a side 18-0 up get thrashed?
Not many by a long way I would say.

And according to the Worky fans a major factor was lack of fitness or more accurately inferior fitness compared to Workington. Fitness can't be turned around in week and next we will be playing a Crusaders side that had their match postponed and will be fresh as daisies.

So I for one am very concerned, particularly with the loss of yet another player to injury (Cowling) and the disruption that can cause in the side.
