| Never been a John Smiths fan, his Nephew's ales on the other hand, different class IMO. Anyway where is Richard, he loves a pint of Smooth.

| I am with you on that one ... Sam Smith's ales are superior.
I thought the were originally brothers ...

So did I but this suggests not. ( If I have read it correctly)

| It says they were brothers ..John, Samuel and William.
In 1879 John Smith died and did not see the completion of this magnificent £130,000 building which opened in 1883. He left his personal estate, which included such items as the barrels and brewery equipment, in equal shares to his brothers, Samuel, a tanner from Leeds, and William, a bachelor.

Memories and heritage are very precious
THE DONS and BLUE & GOLD forever.: |
|
| A Tanner is just about a pint of SAM SMITHS is worth.
And as for the flat cask stuff 3d would be too much.
A pint of SMOOTH is the future.

| RIP The Corner Pin, Doncaster.
Some good memories but another which ultimately appeared to suffer at the hands of Enterprise.

| Quote: Wanderer "The next Wetherspoons Real Ale Festival will (officially) run from Wednesday 9 October until Sunday 20 October 2019.
40 ales will be available this time, marking 40 years since founder Tim Martin opened his first outlet in 1979. 35 UK and 5 International breweries will be represented.'"
Particularly looking forward to ...
Tring American Ruby Mild 3.8%
Hydes Ruby Celebration Ale 4.0%
Liberation Colney Hatch 4.0%
Castle Rock Heart of Glass 4.2%
Exmoor Barista 4.2%
Birrificio Argo Terzo Tempo 4.4% (Italian brewer)
Belhaven Barn Dancer 4.5%
Evan Evans Fire Island Buffalo 4.6%
Mash Challenger English IPA 4.8% (Australian brewer)
Mauldons Cherry Porter 4.8%
Alesmith Nut Brown 5.0% (American brewer)
Brains Red Dragon 5.0%
Green Jack One Step Beyond 5.0%
Greene King Ruby Abbot 5.2%
Wychwood King Goblin 6.0%
However, 40 in a week and a half will take some doing.
When it was 50 ales, the festival was two and a half weeks. Dropped to 30 ales it was a week and a half.
Logic says this should be a two week festival.

| Spoons Festival Ale ...
Shepherd Neame Sheps Light 4.0%, a pale ale. Pours golden. No discernible aroma. Odd taste, some hops, a little rye but almost oily. A dry finish. Very strange indeed.
