| This was not totaly unexpected as Fax are a decent team, and are vying for the Middle 8s.Dony got the win last week against Hunslet.Good for moral and a bit of confidence going into today's fixture. To be Niled take some explaining.Mistakes kill better teams than Dony.Penalities stop any momentum. You have got try scorers but they don't get the ball or are not playing.lets hope Liegh rest a few.

| Back down to earth with a bump today ...
We're simply not good enough. The other teams are bigger, faster, and better than us. Everybody else has improved, we've gone backwards. We already knew that before today but last week just gave us a glimmer of hope that a corner may have been turned. It was false hope, like all the other times this year when we thought we might be improving.
The challenge to get a team together that will be competitive in the lower league is going to be a very serious one.

Guessing the player you mean is Tom? not playing because he's on holiday isn't he? Showing his loyalty to the team.

It is DM, but I like the way Thornton is being honest and setting about the job. I think he'll take us straight back up, of course that's if the club back him like they say they will. Those at the fans committee meeting seem convinced they will, I've no reason to disbelieve it.

Perils of being part time mate, work commitments /holidays, can't blame him if he is.

| Surely you go out of season like the rest of the team do? Especially when your own dad then criticises not playing you and makes a coach out to be the bad one?

Don't know anything about that, does he not book a holiday just in case he's picked?, it's the natural time for a summer holiday, the summer, other players have taken them I recall in the past, so do us fans, doesn't mean we are not committed. If he was full time and it was his living, I would agree, but it isn't.

| But does a club paying a contract not mean they are paid to train aswell as play? So surely getting paid to be on holiday while everyone else commits their spare time to training is unfair isn't it?

Do they get paid to train or is it just appearances at this level?, not sure.

You seem to have some inside info that the rest of us aren't aware of Dons11.
I don't know Tom and can't speak for him, or his dad, but he was playing rugby union throughout the winter and probably didn't expect to have commitments at this time of year, which presumably was when he booked the holiday.
As HKR said, it's one of the work/life balances that occur with part-time players.

Gary Thornton does seem to know what he's talking about. I fully agree that the problems he's identified with regards to the pivots are a critical reason as to why we've done badly this season. Gary Thornton's got experience in Championship 1 so knows what's required to get us out of there.
Probably like everyone else, I feel deflated that all the hard work from recent seasons has been undone this season. With hindsight, we could have recruited some seriously good players on the back of finishing 4th last season to help us progress. Now we're going to be struggling to keep our better players as they'll get offers to stay in the Championship.
Conversely, who will be wanting to come to the Dons for next season? This is my worry. I hope Gary Thornton's contacts and the ex-chairman who is now an agent can pull a few rabbits out of the hat for us.

No inside info it's just his dad is clearly a member on here based on some comments made about wingers being dropped. Including one today just seems silly to comment that when toms on holiday or just recently been.

Clark to London
Groat to Bradford
and Snitch to Dewsbury
allegedly.

Three quality players to lose, particularly Clark, but I think he and Groat would have gone anyway, Snitch I'm more surprised at, but I'm sure he has his reasons. Let's face it, we haven't been world beaters with them so a loss yes, irreplaceable?, everyone is replaceable . Just finding the right one's for the division we are in next season. Going to be a very different side next year, don't envy GT in his task ahead, but looking forward to seeing the outcome.
