Exactly that, I didn't intend to go to all the friendlies, it's a lot of money just after christmas and often a debacle. I didn't expect sunday to be that much of a debacle but any ambition to go went when I saw the teams announced.
BUT
This sunday is not just a friendly, it's a chance to thank a player who has stuck with us despite having offers to leave and showed commitment and fantastic work ethic throughout. He is the type of player we are all saying we want, a contracted and committed player. So it's important to recognise that, or we're just saying "we want our own players, but we're not that bothered so mighrt as well get some DR's in"

| I feel that we are at the crossroads if we don't get some decent players and get promotion it could be the end of the Dons and professional RL in Doncaster

| After last weeks showing and a £15 admission fee i'm sure quite a number of supporters will be put off from attending the game ,which will be a shame given KK service to the Dons.
The reality of this fixture is Leeds academy against a team struggling to field 17 players of their own with a few has- beens thrown in to make the numbers up.
What will the club gain from this?
I want to see the current squad play not a bunch of unfit former players who will be blowing out their ar$e after two minutes.
RH must be very confidant Hull will provide us with players throughout the season as Carl has said numerous times he is happy with our squad , i can only hope this is true because the well of excuses has run well and truely dry.

I've got huge admiration for Kez. Many would have spit their dummy out when they lost the captaincy, but not Kez. He's a true professional.
I would please ask everyone to put aside any issues they may have with the club because this is our chance to say 'thank you' to a guy who has been an incredibly loyal servant. It would be awful if there were only 300 or 400 turn up. Please get down on Sunday if you can. Let's try and get 700 or 800 down there.
Kez deserves it!

I hope Sunday's result doesn't put people off attending KK's testimonial ... but sadly it could.
I agree with others, let's have a good turn out for a player who has given his all for the Dons.

| I will be there Sunday ONLY because its going to be a tribute to a great Dons legend few players over the 35 years Ive been watching this club have put in such a magnificent effort week in week out such as Kes, He deserves all the applause he will get... Back to the topic at the beginning of this thread the news about Brad and Frankie highlights just how much we are in the shoite,, come on you dons ??? for how much longer is our away kit black and white this season.

| So ,,, this is where were at we have played 3 friendlies and conceded nearly 200 points,,, we played today with all our fit players plus the D/R guys and a retired ex Dons legend. I cant see anything possitive from our current position we need to do a lot of serious thinking before we play Newcastle away,,, After 30 plus years of all the ups and downs Ive never chosen NOT to attend (when I could have) today I did and IM sooooooo glad I did,,, this is where were at folks...

| Same here, had nothing on today and could have gone but glad I didn’t. What a pointless pre season. Who is responsible for arranging these games... were a shambles on the field. Read earlier Hull already have a few injury’s so forget about getting any of their better players on DR. Is it true we had 3 players go off injured today too ??

| The lunatics are in charge of the asylum.
If Hull don't give us some quality players versus Newcastle and we lose, then the sh/t will hit the fan.
Because this is really not good enough thus far.

| Set the lads up to get battered for three games...
You know it makes sense.

| There needs to be some communication from the club about what is going on. We haven’t even got enough of our own players to name a full 17.... and what’s happened to paying for better quality DR players... where were they today, looks like Carl has been sold a dud deal once again. Absolute shambles of a pre season. Workington and Newcastle both beating super league clubs this weekend and we ship 200 points in 3 games.

| I would hate to think how many of those points our right side defence has shipped.
I say defence ...
We are set fair really with no decent wingers, no decent centres and next to no decent forwards ...
I stress, that we have seen.
They exist, but are currently holidaying somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle.
I think we will win this league.
Certain of it.
PS
At least our try was a little cracker.

| I don't know what we've learned, players can't get to know each others moves etc when we're getting battered each game. I totally get playing Hull (for DR and attendance) and Leeds (for testimonial and attendance) but London is a bizarre friendly. There was never going to be anyone there, and the team was never gonig to get ball in hand. I'd much rather us play the combined Doncaster amateur team (players are coming trough from those, attendance is reasonable, get to support all the lcoal sides, get a realistic chance of practising attacking play etc)
Luckilly we have a few weeks before the season starts to see if we can get our pre season injury crisis resolved before the tough start to the season. Newcastle beat a team of toddlers yesterday but they'll be buzzing with excitement now

| One player who has stood out is Matty Beharrell.
He has never stopped trying, has put his head on the block and luckily not had it removed yet.
His distribution was excellent and it wasn't his fault that few of the others knew what to do next or ran into a brick wall.
So that gives me reason for some optimism, although it is not my style, for the games ahead.
At least we have one pivotal player who knows what he is doing.
As for our playing as a team, with everyone sure of his role and confident in our defence as a unit, I worry.
Newcastle and Hunslet WILL be ready however and we are a house of cards at the moment.
If we beat Newcastle none of this will matter ...
