The York club look to have serious intentions of getting promotion to the Championship I wonder if the Dons management are considering strengthening there squad of players for the final run in & play off games.

Thought they had injury problems and this is possibly cover for that.
It won't affect us too much, since we aren't gonna get promotion in my view.
Too many better sides, which is a bit unforgivable.

So how come the Dons did not respond with some real intent after their demotion?
IF we can muscle up at London and do the business we are at least in the hunt. If we lose, we are just not good enough or smart enough.

We are fifth in the bottom league and other sides have a game in hand.
If London win their game in hand and beat us, they too will have 16 points.
Luckily sides will take points off each other, but we are facing losing two out of our last three games pre playoffs and points will be added to what we already have.
How many of that seven will we win ... four?
How are we gonna get a top position for knockout games?

Keighley & York both have to go Toulouse , if we can come 4th , we still have a chance .

Geoff , I believe in the top 1 or 2 should get promotion & the bottom 1 or 2 are relegated. This should apply to all 3 divisions !
With regard to a budget for next season , I think we as fans have been miss led by management over budgets over the last couple of seasons. So I haven't got a clue what Club Doncaster will do.

Quite agree that the top two should get automatic promotion and the bottom two relegation from C & C1 but i would have a play-off for a third promotion place from C1 versus the third bottom in the C.
Surely the fairest way would be for every team to play each other home and away in the regular season ? ..or is that too sensible ?

I agree that in principle the top team should get automatic promotion but I believe the main reason why this doesn't happen is because we have a ridiculous fixture schedule throughout the season. Unless everyone plays each other at home and away there is going to be a big slice of luck involved in where you finish in the league due to whether you've played the poorer sides at home, or the better sides at home. If the majority of your away games have been against the better sides, you will have been up against it.

There are too many teams in the league for everyone to play each other at home and away - the convoluted play-off system is the RFLs answer to try to correct the problem.

Another issue arises because of the ability differences between the top 8 and bottom 7 teams in the league: there are far too many one-sided games. This detracts from its appeal to supporters in general. The advantage to the league splitting at least means each game will become more of a contest.

I think the season so far has been boring. It stop/starts with too many blank weekends and it has too many one-sided games. The sooner we get to the split the better. Everything should be more exciting from there onwards.
