| Quote: AdamH "Agree Owen is a massive part of our attack, to the point where when I read that some Hull FC fans on their board were suggesting Shaul come to us on dual reg, while admitting his passing and defence were poor, both me and my father were of the opinion that this would be worse for us overall as his (Owen’s) distribution is such a massive part of our attack. Would never happen anyway with the 50K salary limit for Dual Reg players in our league.
For me the only player who has impressed more than Owen so far is Harris, who has to be one of the buys of the season imo.
Also nice to read a few of the comments on here and see I'm not the only one who thought it was Owen who put in that kick for the try at half time as all the early reports are saying Harris.'" I thought it was Harris at first, because he was pretty close to Owen when the kick was missed, however, it still doesn't discount that we haven't scored a try like that in a long time, a proper hit with pace on the break effort, combined with a fantastic kick through.

Agreed. That one got me and the rest of the stand jumping that's for sure. A real kick in the teeth for the opposition too.

IMO one of the top three tries by a Dons side whilst at the Keepmoat. As for the Hull lads, they were very good, Litten for a Little un is top draw. That was the most enjoyable afternoon at the Keepmoat for a long long time.
We firmly put to bed the bigger pack effect and they will not come much bigger than the Haven pack, they got owned and they knew it. Special word for the Coach because that defensive line is excellent and dare I say as good if not better than we have seen for years.
One very happy bunny.
We must be doing something right as it was good to see Wahs back sat in the sun (welcome back Harry)

| Guess who went to the loo on the stroke of half time?
I heard the cheer ... that was it.
No they weren't cheering me.
At the risk of over-analysing and getting things out of proportion ... it was obvious that on a player for player basis ... Donny was the side with talented players and Whitehaven the side with the lumps.
Which in no way means that they couldn't win .. on their day they would.
There were no restarts where we dropped the ball or wilfully let the ball bounce.
Penalties were not stupid penalties.
So good progress there.
Defence was tenacious and organised.
So kicking is a thing to be worked on.
Personally I would stick with Harris with a back up for injury.
Or have a right and left side kicker.
Lesson to be learned... don't undermine Harris's confidence.
He may miss one or two ... but NEVER drop your kicker during a game unless he is injured.
More wise words from S-O there.
lol

| definitely Owen he will be big for us this season and he missed 10 minutes but as far as MOTM today you could have picked any but i think Hedges is transformed
so far this season .
does a lot of hard work and seems a lot stronger.

| Really enjoyed the game today the Dons played some very attractive rugby.
There are some very talented lads in the side just hope we can hang onto them.
First time I have been for a while but will be back not seen rugby as attractive as that from Dons for sometime I would encourage other stay aways to come back and see the talent on display and the way they play for one another.Defensively they were quite good.
Sort goal kicking out and we have a very good team to follow

Salary cap is now ÂŁ75k for Championship One.
I haven't read the comments from Hull fans about Jamie Shaul but I've enjoyed watching him play for Hull this season. I can't imagine Lee Radford not playing him although should his salary not exceed ÂŁ75K, I'd be more than happy to see him put in an appearance or two for us!

| Quote: Dave K. "Hope the Hull lads went well, I know a few of you are disappointed with the DR, but fully expect you to have those 3 for most of the season as I can't see them playing for Hull this year, as too many players in front of them and possible salary cap implications'"
Jack Sanderson is a big lad - typical of the type of wingers you need these days. He took all the kick-offs that went down his side of the pitch and was excellent under the high ball. He has a bit of speed too. He played well and showed excellent commitment.
I was impressed by Jack Downs. He worked hard, tackled well, and looked a very good player in the making.
Jez Litten looked lively when he came off the bench. I was impressed with him when he played for us in Toronto last year. I'm sure he'll also get better as the season progresses.
it was a very good team effort all round today and your Hull lads certainly played their part.
Dave, do you know anything about Hakim Miloudi? I thought he might have been with us this weekend.

Not sure on Miloudi, doesn't look good based on his history.
Good to see Connor Bower doing well also.
I said when you appointed Horne it would be a good appointment, played under some good coaches and I always liked the style of rugby his Hull academy/reserves played

| Brilliant performances across the park.
I was sceptical about the dual reg with Hull after some of the players we have seen over the last couples of seasons ,
and I still have reservations if Hull suffer a few more injuries ,
but I thought all the DR players gave their all and took us up a level on the field that we have not seen since the Paul Cooke days.
Harris and Howden showed class and creativity , something we have been lacking in the past.
If Howden can stay injury free and with Cross, Litten and Miloudi we will have good strike players across the park.
RH will have some serious selection issues over the season................. but hey what a problem to have.
He has shown he is not scared to drop players and be his own man which is good to see.
Kez , England and AJB are going to have to up their game if they want to get back in the side.
If only we had a kicker,............................. but who wouldn't have taken that score at the start of the day @COYD
