| I haven't been following this as it happened, as I usually do, and I am glad I didn't.
I thought we would lose so i preferred to just look at the final score.
It surprised me that we lost by such a margin, but then when i looked back in the thread and found we were 18-0 up I was gobsmacked.
I will leave it to the folk who were there to give their comments.
Did we have some injuries?
Jamie Thackray can't win on his own.
Otherwise, for the side leading the division to ship 45 unanswered points is disgraceful.
Seems my comment about 'we have the talent, but do we have the balls?' earlier on in the thread has been shown to be very appropriate.
Terrible!
It's a good job there are only three Cumbrian clubs.
It means nothing if we get revenge on our patch against Barrow and Workington, I suppose, but I would sooner be in their position of having won the first encounter.

Thinking donny were going to get within 20 points of us was crazy thinking. after we woke up it was a lesson from the boys in blue and in all honesty could of easily been 60. One set you had inside our 20 in the 2nd half, and we scored off your resulting kick. I would put that champagne away if I was you.'"
Big up to you Wonky. Your side obviously did you proud today. Me and Mrs Moonlight have had very nice bottle of champagne this afternoon thank you. Nothing to do with sport just thought it would be nice, enjoy your post match Carling
SO lets reserve judgement shall we until after the other two Cumbrian sides have been to the Keepmoat.

I'd stop being an if I were you. We were shocking for 60 minutes today. Workington played some excellent rugby, and I thought Thackray deserved the man of the match.
Certain players have some explaining to do, as there seemed to be a distinct lack of effort from some of them.
(This is me as a fan, and not as the club photographer).
Anyway. Hope Danny Cowling gets well soon.

| For the first 20 minutes I thought Donny were going to run away with the game as Town looked very flat and missing tackles which is totally opposite to how we have been playing as our best defence in the league showed. However, after 20 minutes we wakened up and started to play like we have done all season and just before half-time we were saying that Donny players looked knackered and looked as if they weren't going to pose Town any more threats.
So it proved in the second half as Town ran riot and the score could have been much higher but for one or two disallowed scores by the Whitehaven referee. I hope the lad who was injured is okay. He needed oxygen on the field but he walked off under his own steam so hopefully he is fine. At the end the Donny players looked a sorry bunch and I think more than anything fitness was a big problem for them. Town basically played with 2 props for most of the game as MacDonald and Tunstall went off after 15 minutes and didn't come back until 5 from the end.
All the best to Donny for the rest of the season.

I'll hold off until its confirmed by the club, but from what I saw through the lens, it didn't appear too clever, and its obvious that the oxygen being administered was for a reason.
Hope he does recover, as he was probably one of the better players on the pitch for us this afternoon.

Sounds like they surrendered, which is not a good trait.
Brittle!
Mind you once a side keeps getting the ball and keeps scoring tries it is very hard to stop them and not let your heads drop.
Is there anything we can learn from this to help prevent it's re-occurence, because if a side came to the Keepmoat and went 18-0 up I wouldn't expect them to then collapse. I would expect them to compete and probably win.
It's all very worrying.
Miller needs to get to the bottom of it.
Our fitness was questioned, let's start there .......
Oh, and while you're at it Tony ...attitude!

| didnt go, so wont be over critical, but can we not get up for the big games?
A bonus point at Worky and Barrow should be least to expect.
Reality is I would be surprised if current top 4 doesnt now change in terms of who goes up.
But we still have some home games to come against these teams and anything can change in regards to order that 4 finish in..
A few weeks off with the number of injuries we have will be beneficial.
PS where is Kyle Bibb, I think his SL experience against the likes of Thackery wouldn't have gone a miss.

I didn't go. I went to Barrow and we were pathetic, so I wasn't going to repeat the same mistake at Workington.
The fans that went must be gutted after such a wonderful start.
I feel really sorry for them. They are a great bunch.
I can't see there being a bus to Whitehaven after these two drubbings.
And we need to pick ourselves off the floor for the North Crusaders game or we will get another knock-back.

| Went to skeggy to visit my son and when we left we were 18 nil up, was very surprised at final score when we got home. I guess sometimes you just have to say well done to the opposition. Hope the injurys not serious. Now we will see what the Dons are made of. Work to be done

| Hope the lads can bounce back from this defeat ,lets not write off the whole season . We knew the Cumbria away matches were going to be tough we have to beat Barrow & Workington at home now.
Anyway the immediate aim is to get back to winning ways next Sunday away to North Wales.
What happened to Danny Cowling ?

| Maybe one for Geoff, but in all my time with the Dons (1979) I cannot recall us getting much from our trips to Cumbria (and quite rightly the Cumbrian fans, all 3 clubs, are more than aware that it is the proverbial rocks and no lighthouse trip). Good luck to them they were obviously up for it (Like Barrow) and despite the bus legs analogy we got what we deserved, the square root of FA. This does not make this Dons team a side that does not deserve to get promoted, our home form (and some away trips) suggests otherwise, we are a top four team, its just where in the League these players now want to finish. So I am not too down hearted, disappointed that the attitude appears lacking once again after a long journey, but they have to come to us and those games now mean everything in this squads season IMO.

It had nothing to do with the journey as you were the better side at the start of the game and didn't we put 40 points on you at the back end of last year at donny, so I think it's an excuse teams like to use when they dont perform. I wouldn't be too disheartened as you played against a very good town side who will be top 2. At the end of the day top 4 go up and oldham and rochdale are already dropping behind the pack so the 3 cumbrians and yourselves should be playing championship rugby next year. And we aren't haven were a far far better side
