I'd be disappointed if Dave Scott left but unsurprised. He's still our best full back until a fully fit Tom Carr proves otherwise. I also think that Scotty could get a move to a Championship club if I'm being honest.

Would be very disappointed if Scott left, particularly to a potential promotion rival for next season(hoping). They seem to be upping their game, must be enjoying the new backing. Hope Dons match or better their offer, if there is one, Dave Scott has been , along with Welham, the most consistent for me this season.

Massive game of wait and see coming up IMO. We are not aware of the contracts offered and who the club may have lined up to come in. Its all conjecture but IMO whats needed is stability and some. The club will have recruitment issues for both players and spectators in 2016 IMO.

The recruitment of players will be a measure of the Club's intent for next season, good, bad or indifferent.

In terms of spectators, it will be interesting to see the number of season ticket sales, because I do genuinely feel that unless there is some sort of incredible offer financially, there will only be a minimal uptake unless the recruitment prior to season tickets going on sale has been exceptional.

I expect season tickets sales to be lower than the past couple of years and therefore the financial shortfall will have to be made up from elsewhere. This is the sting in the tail so to speak for the shortcomings of this season. There is a very big effort required to get the crowd figures back onside and one way may be a strong finish in this Shield competition. I'm not expecting much from it and our relegation fight was never attainable from months ago IMO but it would be a nice bonus to win a few.

Just been speaking to my friend who lives in Toulouse and he says their side will stay full time next season as they have plenty of money available and are looking to be in Super League within four years.
They looked at applying direct to SL but know their stadium needs some work to bring it up to standard , hence starting in Champ 1.
They have won the French league four years on the bounce and will be a force next season

I am sure there is a salary cap for Championship 1.

ar,nt salary caps based on income, only allowed to payout a percentage on wages.if there income is good then there salary cap would be bigger.

I thought the salary cap was there to enable a more even competition, clubs don't have to spend to the cap but can't go over. Of course clubs in recent seasons have found ways around this and I'm sure the RFL will have informed their latest expansion"toy" of all of them. The league struggles to support the teams it already has with many struggling and with very little hope of ever reaching super league, do we really need another French team playing to different rules, i.e. Catalan having video refs at every game. Wonder what "special dispensations" this new team will get?.

Unless the RFL make provisions for three clubs to be promoted from CH1 next time, then should they perform and be able to hack the travelling, Toulouse will take one of the slots and the Dons' job will be very, very difficult.

Plus we have been playing at Rochdale and Barrow level this season, so unless we clear out this team, that's where we will be at in CH1

Any injury-prone player has got to go for me and that includes Wilko, Waller and Carr.
Much as I like Wilko, I think he and Waller are always going to have knee problems from now on.
Do hope I am wrong though.

i definatly agree there can be no room for sentiment next season and we have to be ruthless, i know injuries are part and parcel of our game but signing a player with a serious injury is just plain stupid. A mini clear out is whats needed and a more ambitious recruitment drive is a must so its over to you club doncaster show us that your 'learned by our mistakes' statement wasn't just waffle COYD

Hiya peeps, as I see it re, crowds next year the club are going to have to face facts and bite the bullet we are only going to attract small crowds end of. As has been said on here we need to be ruthless come the end of the season recruit good long term players try and get a couple of "big names" maybe that will attract fans back. The LAST thing I personally want to hear is the club appealing to the fans to turn out in droves and support the club saying we need your dosh. If we start next season with small crowds but get some good wins behind us then bit by bit we may get the backing of the fans that are more tempted to stay at home, COYDs

I have to agree, the close season recruitment has to show the ambition they are going on about and prove to me that Club Doncaster is backing the Dons before I am tempted to return to the Keepmoat.

We do need to be ruthless and sadly some sentiment got us in the mess were in now.

My other reservation is that hopefully the people responsible picking the players for our "biggest ever playing budget" are not in any way responsible for the upcoming one as clearly they make some very very costly errors that cost people jobs and the club money, in any other industry outside of sport these people would be held accountable and hung out to dry.

Sorry but your mate is wrong about a few things.

They have won the French Championship for the last two years only. Previous winners were Pia (now defunct) and Carcassonne.
They were given Hobsons Choice about SL (quite rightly in my opinion). There is no way the RFL would accept them in the fold straightaway. They knew they wouldhave struggled in the Championship and so took the sensible option to start from the bottom.
Their gound improvements at Les Minimes were approuved by the previous socialist City Council but were put up for 'discussion' or 'renegotiation by the new regime installed a few months after. The City Council are very loatheto invest in such a tenous scheme. I doubt whether LesMinimes will ever see SL rugby instead the possibility of moving to the ground at Colommiers is probably the most realistic option.

The French Elite is poor at the moment with Toulouse the stand out team with the biggest budget. Villeneuve are yet again struggling to find the sponsorship money to carry on though I suppose they will cobble a team together rather than drop down a division.

Saying that, Toulouse look far stronger than most of the C1 teams so I expect a pretty convincing home win when Donny come down just like the previous meeting.
