I totally agree with you Jemmo.

If we become part of the Rovers would we loose all identity, and play in a red and white hooped shirt (and look just like Wigan, Leigh, Oldham in the process).

I stopped coming under a previous regime because of an attempt to "rebrand" the club.

Takeover is very different to investment. Investment I would be interested in. Takeover I would be very concerned about.

Playing on the Keepmoat pitch means we have to fit in with the Rovers and their pitch reseeding schedule and that severely skews and cocks up our season. We don't get a nice pattern of HAHAHAHA.......no I'm not laughing!
How could that be managed better, if at all?

What is needed is a return to Winter rugby, the pitches can be resown in the nice grass growing summer months and we can return to a better Home/Away balance which must help clubs budget better and hep attendances a bit.

If the Rovers can push for this ... then I'm in (ex Dragon reference )

Otherwise we are consigned to a crappy fixture list or shifting some games to the athletics ground, if that is allowed.
And that would not be ideal if we want to be a bigger club.

John and Carl are doing great and should be proud of the job they have done / are doing.

If outsiders come in connected to Rovers ,whats to say after 12 months and the newness has worn off they just cast us aside. Also the first thing that would happen is we would be kicked off the ground onto the running track. If thats the case we might as well go off on our own.

I look forward to the debates about this on here. If someone can convince us all that this would be a good thing then im all ears.It will be an interesting thread.

When they get relegated there will be no prizes for guessing where the first cutbacks will be.
The less we have to do with them the better.

At the moment it's just a rumour, isn't it?. Lots more needs to be known before an opinion can be formed, it may be a very good thing to take the club forward, or a nightmare , im sure the club will make a statement if and when anything occurs.

I am sure we can trust the present board to know exactly what is in the best interests of the Dons, not least because their track record is excellent and they clearly know what's what.
I particularly like John Scarrow.
Ray is a treasure, and Carl is Dons through and through.
So I am not worried at all.

100% behind your comments SO. This board can be trusted IMO. The Chief Exec of the Rovers can be trusted IMO.
I do concour with Weighman though, if this has come from Nosey Parker you need the Cheshire salt mines to take it with. Team Doncaster does it for me. It won't do for everyone I appreciate that and I would not try and persuade otherwise. I go to the Rovers with my Father and the Dons with my Father-in-law. Thats 82 and 83 respectfully, and anything that can bring about a bit of succes that two blokes who have followed their resepective teams for nearly sixty years could enjoy while they can, I'm all for it.

not sure what to make of this as I fear that we would lose our identity if this was to happen. I like the Term Doncaster R.L.F.C (THE DONS) and if this was to go through I can imagine it being Doncaster Rovers R.L.F.C. If it turns out that its just investment then I am all for it but the current regime are doing a grand job in running the club in the correct way and long may it continue

The Yorkshire Post provides some clarity on this today.

It would be an investment from Sequentia Capital who are aiming to buy the Rovers. They have also offered to invest in the Belles.
