| We're going to have to see what this means in the real world I guess.
A positive thing in there is that the club intend to have 21/22 players signed before the start of the season. I am guessing Dixon will be one of them following his trial appearances

Totally agree , we need quality week in week out from Hull as our own short comings have been highlighted over the last two weekends.
For me we need a big aggressive prop who can do long minutes , with the rule changes for 2019 the days of rotating props every twenty minutes will be much fewer than in previous years.
We also lack creativity and the likes of Miloudi would go a long way to helping us challange the top sides.

| Quote: SteveRoebuck "We will wait and see DM, other teams in the Championship don't seem to have an issue recruiting, neither did York, Bradford last year or Toronto in the previous year, if we are a "cash rich" club surely the money should have been spent on a sustainable team rather than short team fixes with borrowing players from SL.'"
Bradford and Toronto were probably exceptions, Steve. York, to their great credit, did extremely well.
The one big benefit that I see in the arrangement is that we will definitely have access to five good quality players in every game, and that must come with Hull's blessing. I felt we went with our begging bowl in the past. At least we've moved things onto a more equal footing now.
Had we had five players from Hull in our squad last season when we played Workington (instead of none), there's a fair chance we would have won; had we lost we might have won the extra play-off game against the Championship side.
A few more signings of our own won't go amiss but this arrangement means that the DR/Loan system with Hull has the best possible chance of working. The old system from last year was clearly broken and needed fixing.

I thought that we'd got a better relationship with Hull in the past than we actually had. Their willingness to help out was found lacking when we needed them most. At least we've got a deal that should stop us being in a bad place at the end of this season, or at any time during it too.
Until we see which types of players will be coming, it's hard to draw any further conclusions at this stage.
I agree with KLD, a big prop and Mr Miloudi would be a good start.

| I don't think we have fixed anything it seems on the surface like we have paid Hull to honour the dual registration agreement we already had in place, and I still maintain the "expense" of this arrangement is nothing more than wooden dollars to cover the money we never got from Hull for Liam Harris (if there ever was a transfer fee or if he really ever was 100% our player.).
I would say that Workington, Oldham and Gateshead have strengthened better than us in the offseason, and I cannot see there budgets being massively greater than ours, if at all.
We will have to see but as the "majority" of our coaches income will come from Hull FC, is he going to knowingly sabotage there chances to help little old Doncaster?

I thought the same as you. You'd have thought the 'old arrangement' would have provided up to 5 players each week. It clearly didn't and a better arrangement was needed.
There are 32 players (with squad numbers) in the Hull squad. Here are the ones outside the 1 to 17:
19 Matongo, 20 Fash, 21 Manu, 22 Lane, 23 Paea, 24 Logan, 25 Langtree, 26 Bienek, 27 Miloudi, 28 Litten, 29 Nzoungou, 30 Washbrook, 31 Harris, and 32 Cameron Scott.
We might get three of those and two of the younger kids? We don't really know who might be coming but there's a lot of decent talent in there.

Of course we've fixed something, Steve. We had a DR arrangement that didn't work last season and it should work this season. That's got to be an improvement.
Other clubs who use DR constantly have the same gripes about it as we've had in the past. It works for the parent club but it doesn't work very well for the loaning club. By getting our cheque book out, we seem to have redressed that balance to put things on a more even footing.

There’s some very good players there who would be great for us. The only issue I see is when Hull get injuries or suspensions a lot of these will be in their first team... i read they have an ex Fiji rugby union winger on trial with them who’s been impressing in training. He could be sent to us. Also notice Sanderson isn’t on that list.
One other question I forgot to ask for the meeting is when Hull have a reserve game will we get priority of the players we want to play for us at the weekend or will they all play for Hull reserves in their game if that makes sense.

| There will be an In The Dugout with Carl Hall to explain the agreement with Hull FC. I understand that the plan is that this will be released during w/e 25 January, after the completion of the pre-season fixtures.

There were four other players listed on the Hull website that I didn't include and one of them was Jack Sanderson. Another was Buchanan who played for us on Sunday.
I really don't know the answer to your question about who gets priority. I would imagine Richard Horne will liaise with Hull and if we've got a game against one of the bottom sides, that might influence who comes but don't forget, any player from Hull has got to play at least five league games to be qualified for the play-offs, so that has to be kept in mind too.
One thing that was said at the meeting that wasn't in the minutes was that Hull do appreciate the future benefits to them if we get promoted this season as their Loan/DR players will be playing at a higher level next season, which is better for them too.
I think the club has put the nuts and bolts into place for DR to be a success. Quite how it works in practice still remains to be seen and we'll only find out as the season unfolds.

| Quote: Double Movement "I agree that in a perfect world we should be investing in players of our own but it is difficult to get the better quality players (who may be dropping down from Super League) to come to a League One club. They would rather play in the Championship, even if offered the same pay. Hence why we probably lost out to Halifax and Leigh.
Hull had their fingers burnt last season with their 'squad size' and along with the fact they planned on having a reserve team, they're not short on depth this time around. There should be plenty of players available to come to Donny.'"
I agree with much of this. 'Perfect World' probably won't get us out of this league. Many of the players we had from Hull last season have now played against SL opposition and continue to train in a full time environment. We have seen very recently first hand what some these are capable of. Having up to 5 of these on match days will surely give us a much better chance of getting out of League One.

What we do know is that Hull will have a reserve fixture every 2 weeks.
How that impacts the players continuity Loan/D/R i dont know
I think Jordan Cox may sign for you and young Jack Brown 18 a front row who played against you last weekend and was outstanding at Wakefield yesterday could likely be a regular D/R as Radford will want to see him have regular game time.
Once Hulls injured front rows Bowden and Green are fully fit (should be end of February) then that also releases Levy,Bienek, and Fash.
My guess is all of Hulls reserve players will be made available for D/R when necessary to suit both clubs and there is a lot of youth and experience mixed in.
I understand fans criticism of D/R but if i was a Doncaster fan i would be quite excited about this season going forward.

| So after all the hopes and expectation we are still no longer Doncaster RLFC and go into yet another season as Dull RLFC. Supporters will not return to the fold so long as this continues and Mr Hall should be thoroughly ashamed of himself for putting us in this position.Bye bye Dull RLFC.

Manu, Paea (and probably) Washbrook are surely out of the equation.
Still plenty of talent listed though.

| Well I aimed too high and crashed and burned ...
One thing I note, I may be wrong, is that names were attached to questions.
Ray Green in a half joking way called me a moaning old git. Now why would he do that if it wasn't a result of me asking the question about the half-time time draw money and my name being mentioned.
I was in no way suggesting anything detrimental to the club or Ray.
But I just got the feeling he was far from happy.
I would suggest names are not attached to questions in future, even if asked for.
It only leads to ill feeling and the club get all offended and defensive.
I hope I am wrong ... AGAIN.
