| Agree with everything said about DR.I think I commented on a game a couple of weeks ago that we didn't need anyone from Hull, and the same applied today
Carbutt Kesick,docherty,Leafe,welham,Foster...all not playing..If we are going down, lets do it as team Doncaster and not team Humberside...If we have got 17 fit ,they play..simples.

| Heard that Groat had been suffering with flu this week.
If so, why play him if unfit?

Enjoy life today, yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come....: |

| Quote: askernlad "in agreement with everything said tonite.can someone tell me why Groat bothered playing today,he showed no interest at all.big hitter my foot, not fit to lace Leafy,s boots.im afraid thats us gone.'"
It makes me wonder why unknown players are brought over here to play for us. If they are that good, why aren't they signed by the big clubs in their own town?.. It must cost a fair few bob to fetch a player over here but so far, despite the hype, none of the over seas players have pulled up any trees for us.. Surely that money could have been better spent on home grown players, who give a dam about the Dons.

| I think Mat Groat is an immense talent and as come to Donny to put himself in the shop window, he had agreed to join Salford in preseason however they messed him around and he decided to stay until another opportunity arose, wouldn't be surprised to see him at leeds next season. The fact that he played yesterday after being unwell is a testament to his commitmrnt to the club, not his fault he was selected.
I agree DR as ripped our club apart this season, we have lost the team spirit of previous seasons due to it.
This season as seen a lot of mistakes made from top to bottom , changes need to be made to sort out a royal mess, I have seen worse watching the Dons, but I accepted it based upon what we had at our disposal, this time I believe we have enough to be more competitive and that's why it hurts so much more.
I felt embarrassed yeaterday.

| If it is true that Groatmeister wasn't fit, then carbutt, who made the nineteen should have played, not become third choice behind some bloke from Hull and a sicky.
It was mentioned on here that Brian Noble was available at one time
I think I know what he would say
"We have got to look after OUR people...the players need to feel wanted."

| From todays Doncaster Star
Quote: "Dons’ boss Paul Cooke remains hopeful that the club can win their battle against relegation from the Championship.
The likelihood of the club playing in League One next season increased after yesterday’s 37-6 home defeat by second-bottom Workington Town left them six points adrift.
But Cooke says he will be looking for the club to regroup for Sunday’s game against Hunslet in the inaugural Summer Bash at Blackpool this weekend.
Cooke, who said everyone felt ‘embarrassed’ by the result, has called for the players and coaching staff to pool their ideas as to how the situation can be turned around in training this week.
“I want us to go to Blackpool on Sunday with a game-plan which I hope we can deliver,” he said.
Cooke was critical of players’ failure to play to instructions in the second half of Sunday’s game.
“We were still in the game at half-time. I spoke of making them come off their line more in the second half as well as tidying up our last plays and building some pressure and wait for the opportunities. But we didn’t get one and that’s the most disappointing thing.”
Cooke acknowledged the threat of Wigan youngster Lewis Tierney, who formed part of Town’s dual-registered compliment.
The 20 year-old winger, whose dad is former league and union international Jason Robinson, raced in for a hat-trick of tries.
“He found some players out with his pace and scored some nice tries,” said Cooke, who again ruled out any prospect of coming out of retirement.
“But when you invite as much pressure as we did eventually the dam breaks.”'"

| if groat was,nt well/unfit he should,nt have played.he contributed nothing to the game,he should have been big enough to say that.as for D/R it certainly worked for Workington, there 4 wigan lads were outstanding, and made all the difference

| There appears to be some movement on the club facebook page to get Peter Regan back as coach as he has offered to fly himself over and do the job for free for a month and see if he can turn things round and take it from there.
I can remember him being coach and we did have some success under him and did sign some quality players on a low budget...the likes of Mick Coult and Andy Ballot were stand outs for me....not sure how I feel about a return but we definitely need fresh ideas.

| I was as upset as everyone else after the awful performance against Workington but decided to let my emotions calm down before making a post.
I've been trying to make some sense of why things have gone wrong on the pitch - apart from the obvious, that we recruited badly in the winter.
Any rugby league team who has success will have a good half-back pairing. Whenever we've been successful in the past we've had good half-backs. Cookey and Richard Wilkinson last season for example, and Luke Gale and Kyle Briggs a few seasons ago. What creativity are we getting from the half-backs now? Nothing much apart from when Wilko has played and when Jordon Abdull has played.
I don't think the root of the problem lies in the forwards because we're not regularly conceding tries down the middle, or caving in close to our line. The leaks in our defense are around the half-back/centre combinations. I've lost count of the times we get exposed in these areas. Many of the tries we concede are after a line break in the half-back/centre area of the pitch, which leads to fast plays the balls from the opposition, leading to tries.
Whether this lack of cohesion is due to the team changing so much, or whether it's due to us simply not being good enough, I don't know. It maybe both but couple that with a generally woeful kicking game, and we certainly haven't been managing games very well. Kicking the ball into touch twice from the kick off yesterday just about sums it up.
If we're to salvage anything from this season, and on the back of Sunday's performance it's hard to see where a win could come from, we need to get the half-backs and centres sorted or else teams will further play on our weaknesses with plenty more of the same to come.
The lads Worky got from Wigan certainly made a much bigger impact on the game than the players we got from Hull.
If the Workington game was the last chance saloon, then the Hunslet game appears to be the very last chance saloon.
As much as we think sport is predicable, a win could make a difference. Look at Leicester City in the Premiership. Who'd have thought they would stay up? But they kept going to the end and managed to beat the odds. The Dons have got to believe the same. They need to put all the disappointments behind them and focus on this weekend's game. The odds are very much against us but we've got to keep trying.

| Can I just say I think that is a very succinct post from Double Movement.
To PC and C S, thanks for everything, just a pity it didn t work out this season.
Carl we have trusted you in the past and will do so again during this difficult time.

| no ones mentioned Jack Walton another of OUR players who doesn't get picked, but supplies the goods when he does.
I think he scored in most of the games he's played.
That is if he's still here!
I also heard wilko was fit but he didn't want to risk him this week.
So he relied on getting the rubbish from Hull on DR again.
Its not worked and that is where cooke has fell down, instead of putting trust in our own players.
As i said somewhere else if we'd only played our own players all season, we couldn't be any worse off, in fact you never know we might have won a couple.
we would have kept the team spirit and probably all the players we have lost as well.
