Funny game this , will be interested to see how the Dons players play but also the Hull FC fringe players who may be playing for the Dons soon.

Well what a farce. Due to other commitments I didn't set off to the ground until 2.20, knowing full well I'd have to get a ticket from the office.
Well I'm at home now as I turned around due to there being 300 people at least queuing for tickets at 2.57, just 3 minutes before kick off. I wasn't the only one either, a family of four followed me. This method of entering the ground has been crap at best, but on a normal matchday I've occasionally missed 5 minutes of the game. People (and the club) will say get there earlier, but as stated, I couldn't. It's not as though we play in front of 20,000, and the club can hardly afford people walking away and losing revenue.
What is the problem with paying at the turnstiles anyway? Every other ground seem to manage it.
Don't feel like going again until this is sorted.

Kick off was delayed by ten minutes.
I just made into the ground in time.
I must say that I felt very embarrassed at the shambles.
I had made my mind up that if after being in the queue for two hundred yards, by the time I got to the ticket office if the match was not delayed I too would go back into town and to hell with it.

As for the game, it was the Dons vs Hull academy plus a couple of first teamers like Whiting.
16-16
The Dons let them off the hook big time and should have won.
Still we looked OK.

thoroughly enjoyed today thought we played well and contained hull. albeit the under 19s + some first teamers, we threw the game away by giving them to many silly penalties, needs to be sorted ASAP. very good friendly crowd (1700) ??? big thanks to Hull FC and their fans.

More like 2700, big following from Hull.

Impressed with Spaven today great kicking game. Hull also had Chris Green ,Pitts, Miller the Aussie no7 playing & Joe Arundel.

Enjoyed it.

Whilst not ideal the queue was got through pretty quickly and 10 min delay is hardly end of world....

Its not like it happens every week as crowd never gets that big, and in fairness the girls inside were working hard.

The Dons dominated from start to end and the Hull team albeit was a weaker side there were still enough 1st teamers in it, check the names in League Express tomorrow.

I for one was delighted, saw no weak links, saw a very fit looking Dons side and the positive is that Cooke may not have to play too much.

Only disappointment was daft penalties something that really needs sorting as it has always been an issue.

But a great game and well supported and thanks to Hull for that too.

Best pre-season match I've seen for a very long while.

Wouldn't have said that I would have particularly added any of the younger Hull guys into our squad at cost to own..

Thank you dons for your hospitality today I think the biggest problem was in all are press it was advertised as pay on the gate so close to kick people were queing at the gate then told to go round to ticket office.

No that I had that problem I was getting very cold in your lovely stadium from about 2:15.

Hope to see you again during the year hoping to catch a few of your games this year.

See my post above mate, I find it strange that at every other ground paying on the gate doesn't seem to be a problem, yet we have this poxy system of buying a ticket to hand it over at the turnstiles!

I've e mailed the club but I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for a change of policy.

I wasn't too bothered about the result before todays game I just wanted to see a good performance and I came away from the game gutted that we drew a game we should have won. All in all I was very impressed with all aspects attack and defence and i thought our 2 half backs were great nd combined well. Spaven's kicking game was excellent and so cnt wait for the season proper to start. The disapointing thing for me was the amount of penalties we gave away which let Hull back into the game but there is time for that to be looked at and stamped out. Finally a massive thanks to the Hull fans for attending todays game, Never seen that stand so full. Roll on the season proper COYD

I enjoyed the game.
The last time we played Hull (a first team squad) in a friendly they brushed us aside with impunity.
So the two sides this time were fairly well matched and both sides got to play some rugby.
I felt a bit sorry for the Hull fans earlier with what they had to watch personnel-wise, but they got a thrilling finish to send them home happy.

We looked fit and very enthusiastic.
Only a few cock-ups prevented us scoring more.
A much more pleasant start than previous seasons.
We got knocks to three players though, but it is three Weeks before we play again.
Two better tests to come.
Cooke's decision to not play turned out to be a good one.
