| The Dons will play against a Doncaster amateur select side in their final pre-season fixture at Wheatley Hills RUFC on Sunday 29 January. The game will kick off at the earlier time of 2:00pm.
All proceeds of the game will go to Dons' winger Dean ‘China' Colton who is in his testimonial season. Bentley born Colton has been a tremendous servant to the club and has played 270 games scoring over 80 tries.
Dons Juniors was his first club in 1990 and he made his debut for the first team in April 2002 against Sheffield Eagles. He scored his first try for the Dons a couple of months later against Dewsbury on June 17th.
Colton briefly left the Dons for a season at Featherstone Rovers in 2007 and crossed the whitewash seven times from 17 appearances for the Post Office Road outfit.
He went on to represent Scotland in the 2008 World Cup in Australia and played two games in the group stages scoring a try against France.
Colton has pace to for burn and has been a very consistent performer for the Dons and certainly knows the way to the try line.
He is also good in defence and is predicting a good season for the club in 2012: "I think we'll do well this season," he told The Star. "We've got a good mix of young and senior players and Paul Cooke is obviously going to be a big signing for us.
"We've missed someone like him to fill the shoes of Paul Mannson and Graham Holroyd."
Dons' head coach Tony Miller has named a 19 man squad and the coaching team of Andy Whitfield (Bentley head coach), Martin Rowlands (Moorends head coach) and Ian Tattersall have named a 20 man squad consisting of local players from Bentley Good Companions, Toll Bar and Moorends Marauders.
Refreshments and food will be available on the day and there is seating available in the small stand. Please contact the club on 01302 765888 if you require any further information.
Colton has proved to be a very popular player for the club throughout his career and has worn the Dons shirt with pride. Please make every effort to support him on this special day.
