| No use agonising about it, we gifted the game to Dewsbury.
And then took the p/ss out of ourselves in the second half showing how it should have been.
Alas too late.
Some lessons are never learned by some players it seems.
Karl Pryce was a raspberry ripple for most of the game but was never targeted properly except with high kicks which were fairly pointless against a giant.
But a wonderfully exciting finish by the Dons.
Worth every penny for me.

| We've seen recently, the posts from people who all say that they will not return to watch the Dons (or rugby league in general) until the standard of officiating improves.
Today was the perfect advert for that. A referee who let the occasion get to him, and demonstrated that last weeks game at York was not a one off, and lost control from early in the fixture. Both teams laid on. Only one was punished. Both teams were guilty of high tackles. Only one gets punished. Both teams were infringing around the play of the ball. Only one gets punished. Both teams were guilty of being offside on many occasions. Only one got punished with regularity.
I've watched the Buchanan try back again since I've got home, and not only has he missed a crossing/shepherd early in the move, theres also at least one forward pass, and a treble movement (double movement with interest). Thats not the only try that should not have stood, but to be honest, its pointless bleating about it after the game.
We have shown on numerous occasions over the season, that if we are allowed time to play the expansive rugby that we know the Keepmoat Stadium allows us to, we are more than a match for any team in the division. Lets rebuild over the winter, and come back next year, ready for whatever is thrown at us, and hopefully ready to break into the top 5.

| Good post ... The man was, sorry is, a numpty.
Why is there no appeal system against numpty refs?
Because they don't want the hassle.
Can of worms.
But Maradonna and what happened to Welbeck in football sickens me that these things can't be put right retrospectively.

| Right, a few screengrabs of something that I mentioned earlier...
I'm not saying anything.. But the one to Pryce is ridiculous. (In both cases, I've 'superimposed' the position of the passing player on, as well as the recipient, if in shot.

| that is dam right ridiculous, how on earth did the officials not see that, we are playing rugby league and not american football, disgusting and as you said in an earlier post Rob the standard of officiating is shocking and a reason why ourselves and other clubs are struggling with attendances

| I'm not that bothered by result as I enjoyed the game yesterday.
The lads played well in the second half but it was just too late.
My only comment would be.
IF you know the ref is penalising offside, laying on, high tackles etc...and you feel like it is a tad one sided then why the bl**dy hell would you allow your players to then continue to lay on, high tackle etc etc...because you do not have to be schooled in the game to know that a penalty very frequently leads to a try...
Emmett gave 4 penalties away yesterday one that lead to a try and one that gave possession to Rams whilst we had the ball. (Ps he is a good enough player not to do that) Robbo had his best game all season IMO but gave away 2 penalties within 2 mins that lead to team warning...
Next season I would be happy with most of current squad as they play for each other - but I will be extremely annoyed if Cooke doesn't sort out the niggly discipline which TM has NEVER sorted. And that will also mean Cooke reigning it in, as has been sin binned twice this last 4 weeks for un-needed reactions.
Final point get young Scotty and Edwards signed up ASAP....

From what I heard yesterday, Grant is with us for another season at least.

| I was over yesterday before I even left the ground, we were unlucky yesterday but whatever the reason we lost. We weren't going to win the play offs, and certainly weren't going to make any money from them so we'll take the 6th place prize money and move on. Neither of those teams are consistently good enough to win the play offs really (IMO it should be top 5 but that's a different argument)
We've had an amazing season and everyone deserves a bloody good rest

| Sorry I couldnt be there yesterday I was working and getting regular updates from Jemmo.
Agree with what Jemmo has said as well.If you were to say at the start of the season we would have made the 8 we all would have ripped your hands off.Getting to the playoffs have been a great bonus for us.I know its a bit of a choker if we have been dry bummed by the ref yesterday but we have done what we set out to do and more this season.
Well done to all for the season , players club officials and fans.
Also the last thing I normally say to everyone after the last game of the season is Merry Christmas. So a Merry Xmas and Happy new year to you all and see you in January or February!!

| Quote: weighman "Very poor first half by the Dons not helped by poor discipline. We got frustrated by Stokes , Dewsbury must have been better at holding down than us !
We fought back well , wonder if Sando regrets kicking thro when he could have released Tuffour near the end. Waterman, Waller & Castle pick of our players.
All in all a good season & a big thank you to Tony Miller.'"
Agree with all the above, thought Wallers' work rate was again immense but can't understand why he keeps getting taken off to come back on again 5 mins later, if he's goin ok leave him be???
Great to see Waterman settling down and doing what he does best but a bit earlier next season please Lee......like at the beginning lol.
All in all a b***dy good season with more, and better, to look forward to next year I think?!
