| Dipped into the southern end of West Yorkshire this afternoon ...
Had an excellent pint in the Reindeer at Overton in the shape of Sarah Hughes Dark Ruby (a mild at 6.0%) and a further pint of Acorn Barnsley Bitter (whose availability seems to be on the increase) in the Anglers Retreat at Wintersett.
Carvery lunch and a pint of Black Sheep Bitter at the Angel at Ackworth to conclude proceedings.

| Not real ale I know..........in fact just about as far away as possible.
I was at the Coventry game with my grandson and foolishly got a pint at half-time while he had a burger.
£3.40 for a pint of pre-pulled, standing-around-for-god-knows-how-long lager.
Never again!
No wonder that place is losing money hand over fist.
Contrast that to the Lakeside pub before the game ...... packed out with Rovers fans inside and out and I had a lovely pint of Black Sheep, albeit in a plastic glass.
Two business models ... one a resounding success the other an abject failure.
PS We won the tickets so we didn't pay, but quite how true Rovers fans watch this week in week out I don't know.
Dire!

| Innis and Gunn Original 6.6% whilst on my travels in Toronto.
At around £8, it's by far the most expensive pint i've ever had, but it was spectacularly good.
Also tried Alexander Keith's IPA, a Canadian brew. It was terrible.
Last but no means least I was tipped off about [url=http://www.montecarlo.com/restaurants/the-pub.aspxthis place[/url in Las Vegas.
Had well over 100 beers on tap, so needless to say I had a fair few in here the highlights being Meantime London Porter, Tenaya Nut Brown Ale, and Samuel Adams' Octoberfest.

Sounds like a decent session ... was one of the Holts pubs the Ape & Apple?
