| We're playing rugby as it should be played. None of Geoff's five drives and a kick. I really hope the people of Doncaster get behind the team now.
I must mention Jordie Hedges. He seems like a changed man. He's come on in leaps and bounds this season. All credit to him.
With ball players like Howden, Harris, Cross, Litten, and Hedges we can strike from anywhere. I'm sure we'll give plenty of sides a lot to think about this season. The fact that we only conceded one try was great too.
Sterner challenges await (and some easier ones too) but we couldn't have hoped for a better start than this.

| Quote: hally's hot air "Excellent win and a excellent performance, was disappointed with Whitehaven but that was down to us totally dominating in every department, agree with s-o about the kicking we definitely need to sort that out as it's a huge part of the game but other than that it was a very good day at the office COYD'"
Agreed, a totally dominant performance.
As with others, slightly concerned with regards goalkicking and additionally, the number of penalties. In a close contest, these two are areas which could cost us.
Otherwise, great to see the confident attacking style being employed this season.

| Great performance today & some cracking tries.
Thought the score on the half-time hooter from the missed Whitehaven shot at goal was a real hammer blow.
Very impressive defensive opening to the second half seemed to catch Haven on the back foot & they never recovered.
Was predicting a close match before kick off with no more than 8 points between the sides - shows what I know!!

| Enjoyed every minute of that game.
The development of Zac and Connor is great to see. We lose nothing when the props are rotated.
Zac absolutely owned Nzoungou who is on Salford's books.
Defensively great and attacking with flair. Love it!!

| Hope the Hull lads went well, I know a few of you are disappointed with the DR, but fully expect you to have those 3 for most of the season as I can't see them playing for Hull this year, as too many players in front of them and possible salary cap implications

I personally though Down and Sanderson did quite well, Litten was OK but needs to bulk up a bit, very light weight; but hey that's only my opinion.

| Thought Harris & Howden were great today .
One change I noted was that we attacked down our right hand side more today !
Owen had his best game so far , what a great kick just before the break which lead to the try by Sanderson .ll
Well done to all .

| That was an excellent win. It was great to see how Whitehaven disintegrated towards the end with the pressure they were under. The big wins against Coventry and Myton flattered to deceive so it was good to see that we could put on a similar performance against one of the potentially bigger hitters in this league. Only two games into the season we can't get carried away but to see us top of the fledgling league table with a points difference of 98 makes good reading. As others have said the goal kicking is a concern. We have had some good kickers in recent seasons particularly with the difficult ones from wide positions. We have had the luxury of building good leads from tries scored and good defence that the double figures of points given away by missed kicks hasn't mattered but it will in future matches I presume that Richard Horne will be focusing on this in training.

| Owen is class, I know there were a few fans not overly impressed with his performances in pre season but even then his decision making and positioning were of a higher level, I think he will only get better with the more games he plays

playing like this there'll not be many games that the goal kicking will come into it with the tries scored.
not saying it doesn't need improving though that would make a complete performance.

Agree Owen is a massive part of our attack, to the point where when I read that some Hull FC fans on their board were suggesting Shaul come to us on dual reg, while admitting his passing and defence were poor, both me and my father were of the opinion that this would be worse for us overall as his (Owen’s) distribution is such a massive part of our attack. Would never happen anyway with the 50K salary limit for Dual Reg players in our league.
For me the only player who has impressed more than Owen so far is Harris, who has to be one of the buys of the season imo.
Also nice to read a few of the comments on here and see I'm not the only one who thought it was Owen who put in that kick for the try at half time as all the early reports are saying Harris.
