| Quote: Double Movement "Here's a video link to John Ryan's full press interviewhttps://www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/doncaster/video-john-ryan-s-explosive-and-emotional-final-press-conference-in-full-1-6234369rl
The main reason why he's quit the Rovers appears to be due to the fact that he feels he can no longer work with major shareholder Terry Bramhall. The other directors are undermining him.
The comments he made about the Dons were rather glib and irritating. I have always had a lot of time for John Ryan as I felt that the Rovers would have been in a much worse position without him. My respect for the guy has dropped considerably after his comments about the Dons.
His comments about the Dons appeared to be a cheap shot at the other directors, and an easy way to find favour with the Rovers fans, as they would have liked another £100,000 invested in their side of the business, and not £100,000 invested in the Dons.
It'll be interesting to see how Terry Bramhall responds.
John Ryan seems like a bitter man at the moment. We'll probably never know whether that is with just cause or not as there are always two sides to every story. But I take great exception to him making such remarks about the Dons. His comments were pretty disrespectful to the Dons and the rugby supporting public of Doncaster. The club and the fans deserve to be treated with more respect than that.'"
Mr Ryan and the rovers fans should think on that 100k is hardly going to turn them from relegation favourites into premier league material. 100k wouldnt pay for a decent League 2 player.
Also after listening to the 2 interviews on Radio Sheffield last night its clear that Ryan has thrown his toys out of the pram.He was insinuating that Bramall and the others had gone behind his back to resurrect the Sequentia deal without him knowing. Bramall meanwhile was playing a flat bat on everything.Paul Walker asked him 2 or 3 times if he was going to stay or walk away and couldnt get a solid answer out of him.
Also as an aside to all this can someone please explain to me what Sequentia see in the Rovers? Normally when companies like this get involved its to make there little bit of money and get out. Rovers have no assets when you think about it , it'll cost a fortune to get the team anywhere near the premier league so I dont understand what the attraction is.
Is the press conference still going ahead today?

| I suspect as my dad has alluded to the deal with the Rovers has something to do with land/property I suspect the old Belle Vue site might be involved.

I know Weighman earlier dismissed the google link with information on but it is key to whats going on.
For me in a nutshell the situation is this. If Sequentia takeover the club then the same people will own the land and the club. The same people are involved in the deals.Sequentia as a hedge fund are only in it to make money IMO.That is the nature of their business.I cannot see how a company like this are going to suddenly pump millions of pounds into Rovers or our beloved Dons. The question is what is the benefit of having this "Club Doncaster" ? Does it make it easier for Sequentia to rid of in a few years when they have made their money?
Lots of questions are out there and ill be honest I dont know the full story around everything , but the more I hear about it the more I dont want the Dons to be involved.I just dont see where the benefit is of us being owned by a hedge fund based in Belize?!

| Belle Vue has already been sold for a housing development.
With a consortium where no names are mentioned it causes concern.

| I think we're probably all suspicious as to why a big business might want to get involved with the Rovers and the Dons.
We fear they have ulterior motives that might be in their long-term interests and not necessarily in Doncaster's best interests.
The risk is that if someone invests money and then pulls out, we could be in an unstable position. The reward could be that investment could take us to the next level and bring advantages that would otherwise have been beyond our reach.
I'm going to trust the Dons on this one. They know the full facts and I'm prepared to back them to make the right decisions for the club and the fans.

| One thing I am sure off is the fact that the current regime Carl John and Steve would not do anything that would put the club at risk and ruin all of the hard work that has been done since they took over the club. I am however concerned that a potential take over by the rovers could lead to the DONS losing our identity meaning a name change and a change of colours which is the ONE thing i do not want to happen. I am going to wait until the full facts are published before I comment further

| I have queiries about why any business wants to be involved with ANY sports club. There must only be about 3 football teams in the world who can survive without regular injections of cash and make a profit

In his post-Barnsley match interview he said that he took the deal to the board who wanted improvements to it which he sought from Sequentia. He added that once he had done this the remaining board members went to Sequentia behind his back and as such he felt he had no alternative but to resign.

| John Ryan must be the bitterest man on earth. From the Yorkshire Post today“If you are not going forward, you are going back. I feel sorry for Paul Dickov now because he is not going to get any money. Spending the money on the rugby (Rovers have purchased Doncaster RLFC) is a waste of time.”'"
In the same piece he says that the Rovers had Richard Dunne, Shay Given and Stephen Ireland lined up. That £100,000 would have gone a long way - maybe pay a weeks wages for those 3.

| Rovers fan in peace. It is a shame that the Dons are caught up in the politics of the Sequentia takeover. I think the two clubs (Rovers and Dons) could work quite well together, though I think that partnership will only happen if the Sequentia deal is killed off. My view is that ultimately the takeover will go through- John Ryan's resignation was an attempt to bring matters to a head because he knows that Terry Bramall doesn't want to take on a hands-on role at DRFC.

| John Ryan resigned as a Rovers Director on 22 November. He has stated to the press he has sold his 24.25% share to Sequentia Capital. In October last year Sequentia bought the 0.72% share of Trevor Milton, and the 0.65% share of Michael Garrity. Subject to this going through, Sequentia Capital will own 25.62% of Patienceform (The Rovers), our new owners.
Terry Bramall owns 24.27% and Dick Watson 24.27%. The purchases would make Sequentia the biggest single shareholder, although collectively Terry Bramall, Dick Watson and David Blunt (9.16%) own the majority of the club (57.7%). All are connected through Keepmoat.
I would encourage anyone in support of the Sequentia deal to read this article.
rlhttps://www.thedetail.tv/issues/4/moriarty-tribunal/key-player-for-michael-lowry-was-banned-from-being-a-directorrl
The current directors of Halifax RLFC bought the club out of receivership. The club was previously registered as Halifax Sports and Leisure Trust. Of the Directors was a Kevin Phelan. This is the same Kevin Phelan fronting the Sequentia bid.
After reading the above and the Halifax information, I can totally understand the stance that Messers Bramall, Watson and Blunt are taking.
