Glad to see a bit of humble pie being eaten on here tonight, particularly by Stand Offish with reference to Waterman at full back. Nowt wrong with that we all get stuff wrong occassionally, but he didn't put a foot wrong all night and was easily the best player on the park, although Sanderson, Castle and even moreso Robinson were standout tonight. Defensively the entire squad was superb and I personally was disappointed (as I hope the players are) when they scored as I don't think they deserved it and nilling them would have sent out an even stronger message to the Championship next season.
Paul Cooke had his worst game to date, and I say that based on only one part of his usual performances-his kicking in open play today was crap compared to his usual near perfection. Their gameplan of running at Cooke (as mentioned earlier) is strange as despite being the best half back in the division by a country mile he's also 6' 5" and about 18 & 1/2 st so hardly an easy target!
Our only attacking flaw was not constantly attacking the woeful Mark Calderwood who even at his peak?? was a poor player when it came to defence. He couldn't tackle the Sunday dinner or catch pox in a Thai brothel!

Happy days when all we have to grumble about is not nilling the 2nd placed team in the league!

The Dons tackling won them the game tonight and I think it showed in the last quarter. I mean big lads running against you all game, it has got to have an effect and I think we were very tired at the end and Worky got on top.
Luckily they didn't get a bonus point. That would not have been a fair reflection of the game.
But only desperate tackling prevented it.

The ref was a jobsworth. I am sorry, I try not to criticise refs, but he heaped some pressure on us that was totally unwarranted.
Yet Worky were laying on all game relatively unpunished.

Yet I wish them well, particularly in their game against Barrow.

best performance of the season so far in the biggest game of the season so far, 1-17 outstanding but I must admit when I saw that Waterman was full back I said not good, he soon proved me wrong did not drop a thing, always in the right position and deserved his try, disapointed when they scored as we had defended superbly, One more point and we are goin up ONE HAPPY DONS FAN

Couldnt fault anyone and cowling in defence was excellent.

Not sure if its been mentioned already but I thought Cas carried on his superb performance from last week and also thought Emmit put in an amazing effort. Cookie seemed out to prove a point, whether it was after the last game or just a battle between the 2 ex Hull fc guys I don't know, but he certainly won that battle. I agree with Waterman as MOTM - he seemed to be enjoying himself in the fullback role out there.

Great performance by the players. They can all be very proud of themselves.

Tony Miller and the coaching team must also get a huge amount of credit. The game plan was spot on. I'm no coaching expert but I can see how we change our style of play to negate opponents' strengths in each match, and work to expose their weaknesses.

I agreed with Stand-Offish and thought Lee Waterman at full back could be a problem. Thank goodness Tony Miller knows better than us. Lee was great defensively. He looked like a cricketer who plays in the slips when he kept plucking the high balls out of the air; he looked like a Dons version of Sam Tomkins when he made one of his jinking and weaving forward runs!

I could mention all the players as they all deserve a pat on the back. I must say that I don't like the idea of players patting opponents on the back or rubbing their head when they've made a mistake. One of the Barrow chappies was good at that, and he didn't like it when it was done back to him.

Anyway, just a quick mention of Mark Castle. He's been awesome all season and he lays a great platform for the backs to work from. Paul Cooke is an excellent leader on the field, as well as a very good creator (and tackler when he needs to). Much credit to him because without on-field leadership things can quickly fall apart.

And Jemmo ... missed you in the progamme! I always look forward to reading your articles. The club should also include the stats from our forum stats man in the programme too. It can't be easy for the Dons to put interesting programmes together but with the help and contributions of others, there's scope for improvements to be made.

Could maybe do a piece on the supporters trust, I've seen bits on here,and that the trust sponsor China,but I haven't seen how you can help with that, and only a small percentage of supporters use this forum.
