| Quote: weighman "Kesik did have a good game & I thought Fawcett & Hyde linked well. Robbo also played well.'"
i was going to post on here how well sharlston played, but not now they let themselves and the club down after the debacle at the end edwards understandably took exception to yhe head tackle and they all dived in bruno sorry deano tried to protect his teamate from getting duffed up and laid two or three of there players out before falling backwards and i am sure i saw a boot aimed in his direction whilst on the ground we gunna miss him as i think he and castle are he best two props we have had in many a long year must give a mention to lee watermen he was really up for it today, same with butterfield who was up there with lee, i too thought there number 10 was their best player till the lsat minute

| to be fair , i thought we set off like a house on fire. and overwhelmed them .shame about the messy ending, if they had put as much effort into their game as they did trying to get to deano at the end. then it may have been a bit closer. thought kes n wats went well, lets hope for a nice tasty draw . coyd

| I thought we were a bit daft to get involved at the end,
A red card was avoidable.

| Overall thought it was a good performance by the Dons. Agree Sharlston No 10 was effective when playing rugby but go a deserved red along with dean at the end. Thought ref had a reasonable game but touchie who missed the swinging arm towards the end on the stand side was poor. regret I disagree about Hyde's performance. Too ponderous, appeared to be thinking about what he was/should do rather than using instict which he did a couple of times and was effective, but too infrequently. Need to play for whole 80 minutes, if we had done I think it is unlikely Sharlston would have got those tow simple tries. As well as scoring the tries was impressed with Lee's effort in jeeing up the team and asking for a big effort etc. More positives than negatives .

| There is no doubting hyde is a talented player,he can look a little lazy at times, but i think thats just the way he is. He will look disintetested then do something brilliant. Don't think he will ever be a "duracell" player

| A lovely jinking try by Hyde ... qualiteeeeee!
I thought Waterman was brill. He took another bad knock to his ankle, just as in the Select game, and once again he just ran it off.
Top man!
Cunningham had another quiet game, a lot of talent unused there.
Perhaps he's carrying a knock.
Butterfield was back to his best, which is nice.
Strong, powerful, direct running from the lad.
I thought that Sharlston kept trying until the end and were not tired out by the Dons as much as was predicted.
All in all, a great day out, in sharp contrast to the miserable day of last Sunday.
My faith is restored!

| I felt we should really have killed Sharlston off, and that after racking up the big lead we eased off. There were some players though that gave 100% all game and Castle (as always), Kesik and Waterman were the ones to stand out. It was Watermans effort that got him 3 of his tries.
Later in the game we got drawn into the niggling game of some of the Sharlston players, and the big blow up at the end was a result of that.
Perhaps the referee was more lenient (or was it just ineptitude) to this type of play, but equally we should have been savvy to it.
I feel Hyde is getting better each game, and if he extends his stay both the Dons and he will benefit from it.
Cunningham I feel has taken something of a step backwards. Initially he showed a lot of promise, but doesn't seem to run with full conviction and his defence is inconsistent.
Finally, and I really do hate to say this, especially with it being his testimonial season, but I think I'd stick with Sanderson over China for now. I fell his defence is better and although he isn't our quickest back he seems to have found extra pace during the close season. He just needs to run straight now and cut down on the sidesteps and body swerves.

| I'm torn on Hyde, he did a lot of good stuff, but took a long time to think about doing it sometimes. On other weeks he could have had someone on top of him every time.
I felt he worked well with Cooke at the Haven game cause he has a simple job, get the ball to Cookie in space. With the decision making taken away from him he did this excellently. I am willing to give him benefit of the doubt that he need to understand the players around him more, which will happen the more he plays.

| I didn't go to Barrow so can't comment on Hyde's performance there but in the last 2 home games I'd have to say that I'm happy enough with his contribution and would expect that if we can hold on to him he could form a half back partnership with Cooke to match the best elsewhere in the division.
