Yes...very good...I thought we would beat Rochdale.
They surprised me with how good SOME of their players are.

For us..Rob Lunt is one exceptional player and was clearly man of the match.

Nothing really to moan about ....which is a shame icon_lol.gif icon_lol.gif

However, as well as he played ...and he is a talent, someone needs to have a word with Henry about what he did at the end of the game.

This is where we should kick on and beat York and Blackpool......but will we??????
We are capable and if we want a play-off place..... that is what is needed.

Quote: bentleyman "What did Henry do ?'"

He fielded a punt from Rochdale at full back position about thirty yards out, stopped, then ran backwards and sidewards and then threw the ball out on about his own 10 metre line.

Now this was all based on the premise that the game would stop at 80 minutes according to the keepmoat clock...when in fact he didn't have a clue how long was left. The ball was thus gifted to Rochdale who could then have scored and then scored from the restart and won the game. Very unlikely, but possible.

Luckily Henry was right and the hooter went as the scrum was forming ....but I thought it was a silly thing to do. He would have been better taking the tackle or kicking up field.

Have to agree with many of the comments ...

The referee did indeed have a decent game.

Rob Lunt was excellent and deservedly won the MotM award.

Decent attendance all things considered.

With regard to Aaron Henry the point has been made about the incident at the end of the match, but a bigger concern for me is the high ball. At least three times to my recollection he didn't go forward and try and catch the ball, rather allowing it to bounce ... on another day we could have been punished for that.

Otherwise, no complaints at all. icon_smile.gif

I think the worry with Rob will be holding on to him. He's only on loan at the moment and his current form will either persuade Dewsbury to hold on next season or alert other clubs.

Great result weel done to all 17 players. Henry may not be too safe on the high ball but his tackling has tightened the defence where in the past we have been suspect. His cover tackle near the end when a try looked certain was superb having come accross from the far side.He also took plenty of stick throughout the game and mostly kept his cool so whilst unwise what he did at the end I think he can be forgiven. Also showed a good turn of speed to follow up the kick and score. Ely changes the options when he comes on and scored a good try.
Good to see Edwards who appears to be well on the way to full recovery.
Finally well done to the choir it certainly seems to lift the players and adds to the atmosphere.
Oh and agree with the comments re the ref who let the game flow and generally had a good game

Aaron thought time was up because of the clock. We have had a few complaints this season about the clock, cant remember who it was now who complained in the after game press conference. Didn't want to say i did the stadium clock as i was writing down his comments icon_sad.gif

And last night if it was closer with what Aaron did it could have been disastrous. I am considering when the clock gets to about 78 minutes, putting a scroller on saying "THIS IS NOT THE OFFICIAL MATCH CLOCK" or something along those lines. maybe stopping at 80:00 makes it more confusing than leaving the clock running past that mark.

anybody got any suggestions. it is impossible to be spot on with the time keepers. we do regular checks, but bearing in mind i have to run down to pete, and then run back to our room, then you are back to guessing. but would hate for the clock to be blamed for a loss, so lets get this sorted now.
