That was tough to watch.

When we went 16-14 up after 44 minutes I thought we might be turning the corner but two Hunslet tries and a drop goal put the game out of our reach by 69 minutes.

I thought the first of those tries had a forward pass in it, and the second had a clear knock-on near the half-way line that neither the linesman or ref could spot.

We struggled with injuries too and on a hot day like today, it affected us.

Having said that, we looked blunt in attack with little cohesion and our defence didn't resemble the side that was defending so well early season. We were allowing Hunslet to run onto us without going to meet them. We got our numbers well and truly wrong when they had 12 men as they had a 3 v 2 overlap to score.

Once Hunslet got some momentum and took the lead, they looked much the better side.

I hope this is a "one off" bad day but as Wanderer said, today may have been a continuation of what happened last week. There are lots of things that need to worked on or we could fade into mid-table very quickly.

Baz

Questions for ITD this week:

1. Does Richard Horne know what his best 13/17 is?

2. If Aaron Jones-Bishop has scored in his last 5 matches, why is he left out?

3. What is the situation with injuries? Zac Braham, Liam Welham, Kieran Cross - are they injured? Are they close to a return? Are they just out of favour with the coach?

4. When will Boyle actually have an impact on a match?

I’m staggered that someone sitting in front of me today criticised me for moaning. Perhaps they found something positive from the game but I’m afraid I’ll have force myself to watch the highlights(?) to see if I missed something.

At least the MOM went to the only player who looked as though it mattered. Well played Kes.

I didn't go today and will not go again this season. What I said before the season even started was that Horne isn't the man for the job and the link up with Hull is a farce solely to save the club money. The Dons will never do anything until signings are made up of players who want to play and give their all for Doncaster.
I have put this post on here because once again you can't see what is happening before you and made excuses for the defeat including the heat which is correct me if I'm wrong the same for both teams.
Last week it was the journey to Wales that caused a less than expected performance but once again having sat on a bus for five and a half hours wouldn't the players have wanted to have a good run around after such a rest. What is Hall going to blame in this weeks ITD.
The crowd of 597 shows what the public of Doncaster think as there couldn't have been many paying at the gate bearing in mind season ticket holders and fans from Hunslet.
The whole set up is a disgrace from Club Doncaster down including Hall and Horne and they should really take take time to think about their positions and what their true ambitions really are.
However whilst ever their are people like you who just will not come to terms with the lies and false promises that year on year are put before us, nothing will ever change and the club will carry on towards mediocrity if not there already.

Absolutely rubbish !!!!!
We have needed a good half back for three years plus and when we finally get one we sell him.
Our priority now is to find a replacement ASAP as Miller is clearly not up to the job in hand.

The club has been found out yet again ,with Carl’s bargain basement buys.
Gary Thornton had Hunslet fired up and ready for the fight .
It does make you wonder what the real issue is with our club , could it be that the coaches are not the issue and Club Doncaster need to look a little higher.
I await the excuses on this weeks dug out followed by Carl,s brown nose brigade coming on here in his defence.
You can’t excuses the inexcusable.

Tatty, the injuries we got reduced our subs options. Without having all our subs, the heat took more of a toll on us. You weren't there so I presume you missed the context of what I wrote.

I have not made excuses for the defeat. I pointed out that Hunslet got two tries that I thought shouldn't have been given and that made the difference to the outcome.

I also said we looked blunt in attack with little cohesion and our defence didn't resemble the side that was defending so well early season. We were allowing Hunslet to run onto us without going to meet them.

I concluded by saying: There are lots of things that need to worked on or we could fade into mid-table very quickly.

I have my eyes firmly open, thanks, and I think I have summed today up in a fair and balanced way.

I didn't go because we are on our hols.
Glad I missed it ... would have probably have walked out on about 70 mins.
We are what we are and why folk can't see it I don't know for the life of me.
We have a bunch of people saying shut up and support the club through thick or thin ...
Well we have thus far .... bought the T-shirt and season ticket.
But it does NOT add up!
The last article from the production line of unreasonable nonsense was Richard Owen saying we have to make the Keepmoat a fortress.
Really?
We have already lost three times in the league and once in the cup.
Nice!
Richard Horne is teaching the lads new tricks from Hull they say.
Bull!
I would sooner have Thornton's chinos and he got the sack.

The sad fact for the positives is that the neg-heads were right all along.

agree with everything you say good job he wasn't sat next to me then even my WIFE said he doesn't know how to pick a team, that says something.

Zac Welham and AJB should all have been playing, and that useless piece of crap as a captain wants sending packing and captaincy given back to kes. i said this weeks ago, he's supposed to be captain for FS and i hardly saw him open his mouth all game

If only we had an exciting young half back...oh wait a minute

Whats the betting these supposed new players were going to bring in come from a HU postcode area?

The whole dual reg lark is a farce any coach would struggle to pick a team when he doesn't know what players he may/may not have, and now you have to look at the bigger picture.

Paul Cooke failed under this administration
Gary Thornton failed under this administration (beat us today)
Richard Horne is now failing under this administration

Anyone spot the common factor?

Tear up the dual reg agreement with Hull (suspect that would mean the coach would go to) find a decent coach who can get the most out of the player he picks and will be in the side week in week out.

The Paul Cooke promotion season we had a settled side and no silly DR nonsense, since then we've been involved in DR and we've got gradually more and more mediocre.

Today was rubbish. Carl said in the dug out that the York player went with their fans blessing. The difference is they have agreed for him to go to saints but at the end of the season. Fair enough letting Harris go but he should have only been released when we had a adequate replacement for him.
Miller isn’t up to this standard and what happens if Howden has a reoccurrence of his injury problems. A big week ahead I feel where quality reinforcements need to arrive, otherwise the season is over before June.

How nice to hear from you once again having a go at me when what I am saying is what hundreds of supporters are also thinking. Why pick me out as opposed to HAA or SO,is it because you can't understand constructive criticism as opposed to personal name calling and bad language.?It's not a rant but if having a personal go at me makes you feel better then so be it.When looking at some of your recent posts it appears that spelling is a bit of an issue but I didn't feel the urge to have a go.Still maybe that's because I'm considerably more grown up and educated than you. Til the next time................!!!!!!

contructive criticism is the easiest thing in the world to understand, what is,nt is the contant drivel that comes out of your mouth.just because some of us don't subcribe to your conspiracy theories, and your obbessive dislike of CH and CLUB DONNY we,re lickers or worse.ive supported this club since 1966 and believe me if you think nows bad,you should read the history of the club, ive seen a lot worse.what I find strange is your rants only come after a bad display, when we,re winning you are noticeable by your absence, and like I said its the same rant over and over again.your childish insults show you for what you are,and ar,nt worth bothering with.i worked in a prison for 11 years and there is.nt a name or an insult I have not heard.grow up.

Oh dear as I said,so many spelling and grammar mistakes.Prison really didn't do much good for you.Contradictory too in that you respond even though I am not worth bothering with.Shan't bother responding again myself though as usually I like to have a conversation with someone who shows at least some semblance of a brain.

Just because things were bad a long time ago that doesn't mean we have to put up with whatever is put in front of us, that performance today was dreadful! We are simply not progressing in any way and I even think carl is getting bored of all his guff and lies he tells on ITD, were heading into a 5th season in the bottom league and unless we get rid of what's holding us back were gonna be seeing the likes of Coventry and hemel a lot over the years ( but hey some folk don't mind that as long as we still have a club), I've never witnessed a set of fans like ours with so little ambition it's pathetic.

Anyway ... back to the game please!
DM said that Hunslet scored two debatable tries ... but they won by 19 points. Yes the game is a seesaw and momentum is everything so you have to consider that as well.

But I am interested in what we did and why we only scored 16 points.

The thrust of the predictions ... even from the negs was that we would beat them by 20 and the 14 given by the bookies was a licence to print money ... yet they beat us by 20 nearly ... a turn round of 40 points in expectations.
That's a hammering!

So ineffectual in attack and sloppy in defence was it?

Yes ... you're gonna get beat once in a while along the route ... but this wasn't one of them was it?

The truth is the faults in our side are consistent ones which no amount of tinkering appears to address ... if anything we are slowly going backwards not improving.

The club is doing nothing about them and it really does not sit well with our stated aims of promotion.

One thing the club can do is stop pumping out rhetoric about our chances, because it riles folk.

Or they can back up this rhetoric and get a proper team.

If anything we need to lower our expectations and be happy when we do win.

Because despite the rhetoric we are a club with average resources and pretending that we can go somewhere good is just wishful thinking.

So turn out and support and have a day out and hope to see a little good footy and no more.
There is no more to added.
