hally , please do not criticise people for not questioning things.
Did you go to fans forums meeting , did you forward any positive suggestions . Correct me if I am wrong but I would say NO !
Fans do question things that are going on at the club I assure you. I do not think there any happy clappers BUT there are people who care and want to see things right they may not come on here but they do correspond with club officials .

I was not going to contribute anymore to this debate but that lasted 36 hours .

Moonshine and Hally those posts are beyond contempt. I suggest you find another club to support because you are not supporting the Dons. I will listen to constructive criticism but not rubbish like that.

To be fair to Moonshine although he over re acted the negative posts have been on the increase of late & hally is the latest to join in. May be an apology from him is called for & I hope he is big enough to do it . With regards to hally I think he got what wanted a reaction & he does not care what he says .

Whooaaa wind yer neck in fella, we are simply debating how we feel our rugby club should be run, what give's you the right to be judge and jury? moonshine see's it one way and I see it another what's wrong with that? We both spend our hard earned money every sunday supporting the dons up and down the country and at the end of the day we want the same thing so take a chill pill and realise this is a forum and people are allowed different opinions.

Hally it is hardly debating you say what is wrong , you have been asked a couple of times how to take the club forward without Club Doncaster & you haven't replied .

A debate should be an exchange of words, not an exchange of insults.

I don't have a problem at all with people having different views, that's what makes the world go round, but respect must be upheld at all times.

If you get offended by words moaners and happy clappers I really don't think a forum is the right place for you, I personally think the veterans on here are being very sensitive and blowing things up, let a rugby forum be a rugby forum without tit tattling back to the teacher for browny points. (as I've already stated I think club Doncaster and what its trying to do is brilliant for this town but I'm questioning the wether the guys at the top are competent enough)

Right we are getting to the crux of the matter now its not Club Doncaster its the people or one person employed by them .
I for one have no problem with constructive discussion .

The balance of getting it right off the field compared to on it is not right in my view, how can we have very rich owners, more and more sponsors coming in and academy's being set up but a continually underachieving team? obviously first and foremost you have to be a stable club but we have been for a few years now surely we as paying fans deserve the rugby to be better and my view is it's simply not.

Well we can all agree on that , lets see which players are retained & who is recruited !
Would like to finish the season on a high but clearly we have not been consistent enough .

I’ve been reading this forum as a guest for the last few months but never contributed due to all the negativity and lack of respect towards differing views. I would like to voice my personal opinions without insults being thrown at me because my view may be different to someone else’s.

I enjoy reading the informative postings with articles telling us about things we wouldn’t otherwise know about and also the suggestions for improvement.

I realise that things don’t always go well and some people need to have a rant and a forum is just the place to do that. What it shouldn’t become is a place to hurl personal insults at each other.

This discussion seems to have taken a turn for the better now the ‘handbags’ have been put away!
I look forward to more of the same.

I remember sitting in the stand at Castle Park when the Dons lost to Whitehaven (It was the last game Shaun Leaf ever played after the spear tackle from Jesse Joe Parker). Paul Cooke had just been sacked and Gary Thornton first took over and I couldn't believe how we'd slumped to the bottom so quickly. It's been pretty tough ever since too.

I too question whether the lack of progress is due to Club Doncaster not investing enough money in the playing side of things but neither Paul Cooke or Gary Thornton made reference to this when they left. Richard Horne stated in his Free Press article:

“It is going to be a process of just building and hopefully we can achieve it quicker (than has been talked about) because the owners have shown they are prepared to invest.”

It could be argued that none of them would be critical but I think little murmurs of discontent would have surfaced. I can't honestly believe Richard Horne would come here if he felt he wasn't going to get the financial backing he needs.

I believe the recent problems have been more down to poor recruitment rather than lack of investmant.

I'm looking forward to seeing the retained list and seeing who we sign.
