It was Clare at FB with Sando on the wing.

| Quote: donny hkr "we can be encouraged by first.half, game ran away from us in second half, but they are expected to be up there at the end of the season. Onto Hunslet and a very winnable game.'"
Not a lot between the 2 sides in the first half. 12-8 to Leigh a couple of minutes before half time, 2 tries each but both converted by Leigh, neither by the Dons. A late penalty giving a slightly flattering scoreline (14-icon_cool.gif in favour of the hosts.
Second half from a Dons point of view quite poor. Too many penalties conceded and far too many missed tackles (uncharacteristic).
Today was always going to be one of the more difficult fixtures this season and as you say next week offers a better chance of getting a positive return.

| Quote: Wanderer "In the end I didn't play ... as it turns out, a fortunate decision.'"
A wise move. Although, on the evidence of the first 40 minutes, it looked like it was going to be close. As for the penalties it was 12-9 in Leigh's favour. (but 7-4 in the second half) The referee was clearly frustrating both sets of players, with some of his apparently random, 'nit-picking' decisions.

| Thought you guys played some good rugby in the first half and at times had us on the back foot, we did seem to play better second half though, but if you play as you did in the first half i think you will do OK this season and beat a good few sides.
Anyway good luck for the rest of the season guys.

| Looking at the table this morning, we are above the teams I hoped we would be and below those who I assumed at start of season we wouldnt, so all in all, not too bad.
No mention of Waterman in LE this morning ref any injury?
I also think looks hard on Butts who looking at Twitter seems to becoming V distant from group.

| Butterfield at the moment seems to be a bit out of favour as you say, with Waterman injured i thought he would have come in , but went for Clare, can't really blame him for being a bit disillusioned . But TM is the coach, we have to back him, he's done a good job so far, even if sometimes we can't understand some selections. Guess that's why he's a coach and im a supporter.

| We have already Fran Welsh leave and I think Butts could be next. At first I was happy with the dual reg but I'm not now. If we alienating loyal players because of being "obliged" to pick dual reg players, who may be back at the parent club the following week, then this is wrong. This showed up yesterday with fawcett, goulding and cooke. Cooke looked out of position at loose, and gouldings inexperience showed out. Playing all 3 at the same time does not work.
On another note I have heard that the RFL have banned teams from using the phrase "feeder club".

| Yes i agree, we lose cookes organising ability when he's not at stand off, as for dual reg , well it seems to be overshadowing the season doesn't it.

| The only reason i can see for having all three is he thought we needed to be quicker in the middle, for a time it seemed to be working, but leigh changed tact. Im with weighman on this one.

| Said it a few times now but all 3 on the pitch just isnt working! But i also dont see the point in putting one on the bench. Not sure if Tony has an option with regards to playing bobbie but then i wouldnt see based on form how he could drop fawcett. So i have a feeling the situation won't change. Regarding yesterdays game i think it showed missing spurry and waterman and when kesik went off injured we just seemed to lose all sense of control over the game. The heads seemed to go down and never really picked themselves back up. The ref was poor but in fairness he was poor for both sides. Onwards and upwards for hunslet. We are a lot better than we showed yesterday.

| A bad day at the office ... it happens.
I never expected anything at Leigh, that's why I never considered going, even though it is a ground I have never been to and would have liked to,
It could be worse, we could be HKR.
That's when you know that anything can happen in rugby and nothing is easy.
How they blued that is beyond me, but strangely refreshing!
How we fair against Hunslet is a better marker.
We need to compete there and do well, and that means at least a bonus point.
It does sound like the team is imbalanced and i think the point about good, loyal, hard working servants like Butters and Co is a good one. They will get brassed off with temporary guys taking their places.
These dual reg players need to be especially classy to warrant a place ahead of such as Butters and Hughes (who I rate highly).
And are they that much better?
Marginally better maybe.
Anyway, I may have a trip to Hunslet, dunno yet.
