The Angel at Blyth served up a very nice pint of Hardy & Hansons Kimberley Bitter last Sunday and the nearby Red Hart had the excellent Cottage brew Elise available. Happy days

That takes me back to when we used to stop at the mother-in-law's caravan near Butlins at Skegness.
The whole area of Ingoldmells was like supping in a desert apart from the Cherry Tree just across the road which sold the brew you mention. 24 years I had enjoying it. Happy days indeed.

Many years ago, I once had a few days there and yes, the Cherry Tree was indeed an oasis in the desert.

| A very quaffable Marstons EPA in the White Swan at Deighton on the A19 on Monday evening after a trip to the coast.
Also extremely enjoyable was the Mordue Radgie Gadgie in the Greyhound at Riccall a short time later.

| Visited the Navigation Tavern in Mirfield yesterday. A Theakston house at the side of the Calder and Hebble Navigation. Very pleasant, Black Bull Bitter sampled.
Later, a flying visit to an old favourite of mine, the George at Wentworth. The White Rose Best Bitter 4.3% really hit the spot.

| Far too long time no speak, but I must, seeing as Jaipur is now a regular beer at the Bluecoat in Rotherham.
Went to Scarborough in June and sampled the happiest misnomer in brewing history. I give you Black Rocks IPA from the Buxton Brewery. A taste sensation! Black as night but with a wonderfully bitter hoppiness. If you like your beers hoppy, then find it asap!
Come on you Dons!

| Wakefield yesterday evening after Pontefract Races.
Kicked off in Fernandes Brewery Tap with an excellent pint of Nottingham Brewery Rock Mild 3.8% which was quickly followed by an equally impressive Bucking Bruiser 4.0%, a malty chestnut ale from Nick Staffords Hambleton Ales in the Six Chimneys.
Sharps Doom Bar 4.0% in the Black Rock Hotel, then a couple of drinks in Harrys Bar whilst waiting for the train home. The first was Yewbarrow a strong dark mild at 5.5% from the Great Gable Brewing Company in Egremont and the second Elland Brewery's Demons Eye another 'strong' ale at 5.2.
All in all a very enjoyable afternoon and evening.

| Hull yesterday. Finally got to visit the Hop & Vine and the Wellington.
Slightly disappointed with the choice of ales in the Hop (just 2 golden ales) but I do understand why it's popular with discerning drinkers.
The Wellington is an absolute gem ... oh for that to be my local! Wonderful choice of ales (half a dozen I believe) ... settled for the Potbelly Beijing Black 4.4%.
