| Quote Jemmo="Jemmo"The problem when it comes to get money from companies as sponsorship for the deal is that they already approach all they can for sponsorship, as they have done in previous years. If a company sponsors Cooke say £500, that is £500 they won't be sponsoring the club in other ways and so just pushes the cost else where within the club. The trick is to find a company that had no interest in sponsoring the Dons, but would be interesting in sponsoring Paul Cooke...is this likely?'"
Surely that applies to the fans also---they have a certain amount of money they can afford to spend on the Dons and anymore than that and they will struggle.

| I personally pay in a monthly fixed amount to the Supporters Trust who sponsor players and provide monies towards man of the match awards every game---- I could divert this to the Squadbuilder Fund (Paul Cooke) but the argument's for doing so don't convince me otherwise at this moment in time, and to be honest i can't afford to pay both.

i'm sure the club as well as the Trust are very thankful for every penny they can get, however big or small - we all have our limits
since being made redundant last year and only finding part time work my income has halved in a year so my funds are really limited like most people but i'm sure any financial gesture is welcomed - here's hoping it helps in some small way.

| Doncaster RLFC are making a further appeal to their fans and supporters to make a final push in their attempts to sign Challenge Cup winner Paul Cooke.
The Dons' fans and supporters have so far kindly pledged £475 per month to the 'Squadbuilder' fund since the club held an EGM last month.
Former Hull FC star Cooke met with the Dons chairman and chief executive yesterday at the Keepmoat Stadium (Friday 6 January) and the outcome is that the club believe they are still some £125 per month short in their squadbuilder fund.
Dons' chairman John Scarrow said: "We held a very positive meeting with Paul yesterday and he's still very keen to join the Dons.
"To make things clear - we (the Dons) are willing to match the £600 per month target pledge to secure the services of Paul.
"With a total monthly income of £1200 - this should allow us to offer him a part-time role within our successful community development team.
"I met Paul for the first time yesterday and I must say he is in tremendous shape and his attitude is first class.
"I'm sure he will be an asset to the club, both on and off the field, and his experience and qualities as a player will help us push for a return to the Championship."
The Dons' Squadbuilder form can be downloaded from our website. However, a form can be emailed or posted out to you if you wish. Please contact the club on 01302 765888 if you require any further information.
Scarrow added: "On behalf of the club, I'd like to thank everyone who has so far contributed to the Squadbuilder fund. I appreciate that times are hard in the current economic climate we find ourselves in but this is simply an opportunity we cannot afford to miss.
"Paul has made a commitment to give his response to the club this coming Monday. The outcome of Paul's response will then be discussed at the Advisory Group's meeting on Tuesday evening.
"Give what you can afford to give, and we'll hopefully see Paul Cooke playing in a Dons strip at the Keepmoat Stadium very soon."
