| Yes it's nice to know.........
The more the communication, the less the speculation.
That rhymes that does.
Right I can go to sleep until next week, happy and content.

The report states that the Club appear to be making slow progress with regards to raising the funding necessary and that TM will now step up preparations for the friendly against Hunslet (Jan 15) without Cooke.'"
it seems to me that the club is relying solely on us the fans to raise the money, the dont seem to be pulling out the stops to get any new monies in,they not said a word since the meeting i not holding my breath re us getting P C .'"
after the update from the club i shall have to eat my words, unless my post prompted them to give us an update!!!!!

| If the club want him that much then IMO it's for the club to pay the difference between the amount the supporters have paid in and the target figure. The means of the difference is for the advisory group to figure out. Again IMO thats what it was set up for. This is my first posting on the Cook signing and I have no real opinion on the bloke other than trusting that the Management team know what they are doing.

| Its big call for the club next week . Lets hope there is no shortfall by next week.
The signing of Cooke would be a big boost to the club, it would be a statement if intent.

| personally I have a bad feeling about this - and agree with moonlight - the club can't expect us to do this all by ourselves if we are short now I honestly don't see that changing by next week unless the club convince some businesses to pitch in (isn't this what they were supposed to do?). However as weighman said - hopefully no shortfall for next week

| The problem when it comes to get money from companies as sponsorship for the deal is that they already approach all they can for sponsorship, as they have done in previous years. If a company sponsors Cooke say £500, that is £500 they won't be sponsoring the club in other ways and so just pushes the cost else where within the club. The trick is to find a company that had no interest in sponsoring the Dons, but would be interesting in sponsoring Paul Cooke...is this likely?

Surely that applies to the fans also---they have a certain amount of money they can afford to spend on the Dons and anymore than that and they will struggle.
