| Quote: onedon "well there you go last night he was listed at fullback!'"
He played at full back in Hull's win at Huddersfield last week and got the Sky Man Of The Match award. Lee Radford said that Stevie Wonder must have been voting for him!
I suspect there was spot of 'insider trading' going on as the Racing Post had tipped Miloudi to be Man Of The Match at 12/1. All the votes were probably from the people who'd backed him!

| Saturday result: London Skolars 20, York 22.
Nearly a major upset!
Just goes to show how nothing can ever be taken for granted.

Except that winners win in general when push comes to shove.
Are you getting the idea yet?
Nearly an upset is not an upset.
Not trying to be awkward and all.

| A write-up about DR in the York Press today was interesting:
"The Knights had received a blow the night before the game (at Skolars), though, when dual-registered Hull KR full-back Will Dagger pulled out with a calf injury.
That meant he could not make the requisite fifth DR appearance for York in time to be eligible for the rest of the season.
The four dual-reg players who are available for the business end are Will Oakes, Matty Marsh, Jordan Walne and Josh Johnson – though none turned out here. "
The Dons website doesn't list the player stats from this season so I can't tell which of the Hull lads will be qualified to play for us after this weekend, presuming the quote about eligibility in the York Press is correct.
Of course the waters could be muddied with regards to Liam Harris. Technically he won't have played five times for us on DR but can we assume the RFL will take into account the games he played for us whilst being our player? From memory, I would guess Hakim Miloudi, Jez Litten and Jack Sanderson will qualify. I'm not sure about the others. Does anyone have the appearance details to hand?

See the thread titled Doncaster 2018 statistics, I've included league and cup appearances there.

| I tried deciphering the eligibility rules earlier this week and whilst I will still stand to be corrected, it appears that the 5 match qualification allows the player to turn out for either club post-deadline.
There is a separate rule which states that a club may only play a player who is Dual Registered to it post-deadline if he has played 3 first team matches for that club before the deadline.
So, using Lewis Bienik as an example (and assuming I have understood correctly), he has played 4 times for the Dons and so could play again this season. However, as he hasn't played 5, he wouldn't be able to play for Hull should they require him if he played for us again.
With specific regard to Liam Harris, I believe that he already qualifies as there is a statement in the rules which talks about players who have played 5 or more matches for their Dual Registered club whether on Dual Registration or otherwise. The otherwise would suggest that previous appearances for the Dons count as he has subsequently played as a Dual Registration player.
As I said, I stand to be corrected but that is how I read it.

| Thanks Wanderer for that. It is I suppose all down to interpretation, my view is that we have to trust the club to know exactly who they would like to see playing in a Dons shirt at the business end of the season - allowing for Hulls continuing injury crisis.

Thanks for the details - much appreciated. I hadn't realised the deadline weekend was this weekend until I read the York Press report.
It makes sense that there are 'rules' to stop teams from bolstering their sides with 'higher grade' players from their DR club at the back end of the season but it does create issues as well. Were the Dons to play York next week, they would probably have less assistance in the DR department than they had when we actually played them, as players like Will Dagger and Ben Cockayne wouldn't be playing. Does this mean York are more liable to drop points from this point going forward as their team will be weakened? Indirectly that helps the teams who have yet to play them. Other teams are probably in the same boat so everything may average out anyway.
We can probably take some encouragement that should we play York again, they might not be quite as strong as they were when we last met them.

| Ooops, of course Ben Cockayne is a York player now, not on DR. I'd forgotten about that.

| Hoping for a thoroughly professional performance today and with all due respect to the opposition, a big improvement in the points difference.

| I've wandered into the upstairs bar at Fev and ordered a pint blissfully ignoring the bouncy castle and the kids.
Right in the middle of a kids party I am complete with a 'Mr Chuckles' MC.
Still the free nibbles on the table have made up for the racket!
What am I like?
The outside burgervan type bar just got ignored by moi.
Time to go I feel!
