Hmmm... looks like the "mutual agreement" wasn't true. It was rather naughty of the club to make such a statement.
Well done to GT for making this clear. I wish him well for the future.

| I sense an unfair dismissal claim going in!
He mentions that if one of the try scoring opportunities in the London game had stuck we'd have won the game. He may or may not be right,we'll never know, but what we do know if that if we had won that game by a single score it would have only papered over the obvious cracks.
I feel for the guy losing his job, but that is the industry I'm afraid. But as he virtually had no relationship with the fans (other than his chinos i know little about the guy) it made his departure too easy

To be fair, we don't know if he is the one being naughty or the club. As I say, if he wants to put a dismissal claim in he has to say that

That's true but I would have thought if his contract had been terminated by mutual consent, both parties would have had to have signed such an agreement. This wouldn't leave any room for disputes later. If GT is saying it wasn't by mutual consent, I would presume he hasn't signed anything. In that case, he would be sacked, and presumably be entitled to have his contract paid up?

| That's the problem with the legal side of this kind of thing. It's quite possible, in the heat of battle, both parties said this can't continue and it might be best to go separate ways (a verbal mutual consent) but in the cold light of day the following morning nothing has been signed

| Bald facts don't a full story tell.
Split infinitives are nice for literary effect.
Two factors not mentioned and very relevant are his dull style of play and his colander defence.
Also the nature of the games, playing in fits and starts. If they were heroic like the Leeds game(the exception) then fine, but there weren't and his reactivity seemed sadly lacking.
Like Sven Goran Erickson he sat on his hands.
So a very shallow report for me.

| Have to feel a bit for GT , he was subject to some foul play at York and I was watching York regularly then , they played some nice RL.
Seems the dons have not lived upto their high standards set for this season so far. The directors will no doubt be looking at the clubs spend and making comparisons on how other clubs with less money are performing . Skolars will prob spend 50% of the dons budget on players ?? and a draw with them probably nailed GT . some of the southern clubs are over achieving this year - York and Hunslet have now both been beaten by Oxford for example , again teams like that cant spend anywhere near our northern clubs on players ?

| I think it was the right time for a change. If GT had stayed, it would have only been a matter of time.
The club couldn't expect us to buy into a 5 year plan for 2018 with GT at the helm based on the poor on-field performances we've dished up this season. His ability to build a squad capable of going up would also have to come into question.
At least this way, Peter Green can be given a chance and the club can take their time to try to find the right person for the job if PG isn't offered the post permanently.
