| Baz,
Could you please forward these questions to Carl and see if we can get Gary Thornton's views In The Dugout please:
I think we need Gary Thornton to appear on In The Dugout. Here are seven questions for him:
Q1) Having seen the pack beaten in the last two matches, do you feel we have the strength and power to compete up-front with the better sides in the league?
Q2) Why is the discipline so poor? Yellow cards for backchat and late tackles are very unprofessional. Do we discipline players for such behaviour?
Q3) In the York game, did it not cross the mind of any of the coaches to suggest that in the second half we kick off into the sun? It was a nightmare seeing the ball coming out of the sinking sun, as Matty Welham knows all too well from what happened to him in the first half.
Q4) Chopping and changing the side on a weekly basis cannot be a good thing. Should we be aiming to get three Hull players on long-term loan deals to help with selection consistency?
Q5) I believe part of the reason why we give away so many penalties is because we're constantly on the back foot due to being over-powered by the opposition. We have to resort to non-legal means to slow them down. We could help ourselves by making sure the third man in the tackle takes the legs instead of also going high. Will we be working on this? At times, the York players were still able to keep moving forwards even when we had three men in the tackle.
Q6) Having conceded 94 points in the last two matches, supporters don't just have alarms bells ringing, their heads are exploding. Having seen four competitive matches, where do you think we will finish in the league?
Q7) What would you say to supporters who are thinking of giving up on the team after what has happened in the last 15 months?

Can you kindly ask why the club posts all its news on Total RL fans forum - which is not used by Dons fans to make posts when this site is seemingly overlooked by the club including Carl himself.
Thanks.

| Oh heck, I shall go and sit in the corner with the dunce's cap on!
I'm no coaching expert and would never claim to be but I've been watching rugby for a fair few years and know a little bit about the basics. I thought the question was a very valid one. The objective is to make life as difficult for the opposition as possible, kicking into the shade seemed like a poor choice.
The issue this raises for me is that if we can't seemingly get the very basics right, how can we, as supporters, have confidence that the more difficult things (the things supporters like me don't understand) are being done right?
If Carl had replied by saying that they'd identified weaknesses in York's right side to deal with the high ball, so they thought it was still the better of the two options, I could respect and accept that decision.
I've always had a lot of respect for Carl and sent him personal emails of support in the past. I'm not the sort to take my ball home. Differences of opinions are what makes the world go round but I think Carl was wrong to dismiss my question and treat me the way he did.

I sympathise.
He threw a strop because you pointed out how unobservant the Dons can be.

| Baz, can you please ask why club Doncaster bought the club to not then provide major investment, it doesn't make any sense, the concept of club Doncaster surely is to have cross marketing opportunity and potentially increase support between each club.
From what we have seen since they took over is a club run on a strict budget which on the face of it consist of funds from the rfl and income the club generates from season ticket sales, gate receipts and lottery. Therefore leaving no choice other than to sign a lot of young potential, we desperately need an experienced half back to organise and lead these kids, yes this would cost money but would give our long suffering fans something to cling on to.
Our main competitors appear to have a greater resources and are paying higher wages, that's what I am told by players, if this is the case I propose our owners commit financially or try and find other investors. I admit this wouldn't be an easy task.

| Good question well put rugblyman, may be that question could be put to Club Doncaster at the next forum also.
I appreciate the owners saved the club , by paying off a tax bill but we are going backwards .

| I would speculate and answer for that as I doubt we'll ever hear the truth but I suspect there are some government funding that the club could tap into for being a "Community Club" as well as getting financial gains from running the Academy programme.
Having Football and Rugby together would mean then have a larger net to cast.
