And biting a player in the tackle is all ok then? What would you do if you had been bitten?

I'm not disputing whether what is alleged to have happened prior to the punches being thrown is right or wrong. I've been bitten in the tackle before (dirty bit my upper leg), and despite wanting to rip the lads head off who did it, he got knocked out, the next time I ran the ball in. Serves him right for dipping his head too low in the tackle attempt and headbutting my knee.
There are ways of getting even, but hitting a prone player in the head is a big no no for me.

Its not the teams fault supporters don't come.
It's having supporters like you who come to one match and make rash comments when you haven,t seen the other displays.
all i can say is what would you do if we had lost, we've only lost 1 at home all season,
and still took you along time to come and find out.

What do you expect when he was ramming his fingers down the players throat,
Got everything he deserved, that is if he did get bitten.

| Well I've waited until morning and I'm still angry at that performance. Cooke was poor we would have been better without him today imo. In the second half we had our defence camped over on the far side taking up about half the width of the pitch. Did they take advantage of this and spread the ball wide? No. They barged through: with 12 men. Also on at least 3 separate occasions we went low on someone near the line and failed to wrap up the ball allowing them to to just plant it over the line despite us having the numbers.
Sando definitely wants keeping as goal kicker, Wilko should be a scrumhalf and Tom should not be fullback our attack broke down when it got to him as he seemed unsure of himself there.
On the plus side Pas looked good though he clearly has a lot to learn and I thought Welham was outstanding, and Snitch finally got a deserved MOTM.
Also as an aside does anyone else find it weird that when we played Barrow at home Bloem was also the ref (the last time we've had him at home I think?) it was another game we played terrible and won by 2 points courtesy of Sando's 100% record with the boot.
EDIT: Forgot to mention I don't blame WAHS or any other stayaways tbh we bleat on about how good the team is and how we deserve better support, then go and turn in a performance like that just when we are starting to generate interest. A little while ago a work colleague of my fathers had been convinced to give it a go and unfortunately went to the Crusaders home game. It was so bad we were embarrassed as we tried to convince him it wasn't normally this bad. For some strange reason he hasn't been since. If anyone is curious why we have such low crowds this is why, because whenever we get new people through the gate we play like that. The first game for a new fan is so important and if we don't put on a good display quite simply they will decide its not for them and not come back. Yes at times it is borderline criminal that so few people watch the brand of rugby we are playing but others we have no one to blame but ourselves.

| I've got a few questions for Wahs:
What constitutes a team worth following and supporting?
Is it one that plays perfect rugby all the time? A team that never loses? A team that wins by 50 points in every game? A team that never makes any mistakes?
Sport is unpredictable. There are 13 men doing their absolute best to stop you achieving what you want to achieve. Swinton's effort was awesome and they deserve great credit for the way they stuck at their task. And in their case it was 12 men who stuck at the task.
The Dons eased up somewhat and almost paid the price. We're not good enough to be able to win games without being at our best, and that nearly cost us, but once any team get some momentum going (as Swinton did) it is hard to stop them.
Give some credit to Swinton and cut the Dons some slack. They don't normally come up short in the effort and application department. Sunday was an exception - as onedon pointed out, we have only lost one home game all season, which is a better reflection on where the Dons are at.
The club and the players deserve our full support.

| I feel as though I'm missing something here. Agreed it was a poor performance but again it was another win. On the back of a big performance against leigh and with a lot of changes in the team it was going to be tough but it was a win. The negative people saying it would put them off going back need to look at the league table and previous results. Yes it would be lovely to put 40 past teams every week but that's massively underestimating opposition.

| The thing is, Doncaster RLFC in all their guises have been an undeniable and unstoppable force of the sport, and until yesterday had won every game by 40+ points Harlem Globe Trotter style.
It is not, I repeat not, anything to do with people wanting a ticket, a pie, a programme, a pint and change from a one pound note

| For people like Onedon and Double Movement I supported the Dons from 1951 until about 2 years ago through thick and thin even in the tears of sunday bloody sunday.Used to go to away games in Yokshire on the pushbike but now I think twice about how I spend my money approx cost to watch a home game £25-30.It is the comments by such people as you that are one sided and put people off making comments that are not in favour of the Dons

Were your comments not the ones that were rather one-sided and lacking balance? Onedon and myself post negative comments and criticisms on here as well as positive ones but I think it's fair to say we try to be constructive in the points we make.
I've been a Dons supporter since the early 1970s. I've been through the thick and thin as well, which is one of the reasons I appreciate all the good things the club are doing at the moment.
The Dons have lost 5 games in 20 this season, which is the same as Featherstone and better than Halifax. Only Leigh have lost fewer. We can't be perfect all the time but we're doing better than the vast majority. What more can we realistically ask for?

| My two-penneth ...
We were dire in the second half yesterday but fortunately still got the 3 points.
It seems to me (and I could of course be wrong) that's some things were 'tried out' yesterday and sadly in the main didn't come off. This may well have contributed to some very average performances.
I also have a feeling that because we were pretty comforable (twice leading by 24 points) despite not being on top form, we showed the opposition a lack of respect in that second half.
Hopefully, lessons will have been learned and we now move on to a difficult challenge next week at Keighley.
