Maybe not in your short life time sonny but they used to have good crowds back in the 90's. Quite a bitter first post of yours though.
I've been told by a mate in Cumbria that Town have 2 coaches and a few cars making the journey from Workington.

| I appreciate that cases are different, but I would have thought that players with leg injuries lose their match fitness much quicker than those with hand injuries, simply because the latter can still run about and get the old cardiovascular thing going for stamina.
So on that basis I rather hope that Cowling is playing tonight (broken finger) rather than Cunningham (ankle) Edwards (knee) or Lawton (back). Because this game will find out not fully fit players fairly quickly. IMHO of course.
I can see another holding on exercise coming up, especially if our main strike player is wasted at full back. Which I don't expect by the way.

I understand what you're saying, but I'd be quite interested to see Waterman at full back, given the attacking freedom that offers, enabling him to chime into the line at different places instead of limiting him to one channel. But I also don't think he will be full back or he would not have been mentioned as an option in the Stir report

At centre Waterman has scored about three times more tries than Butterfield has at full back. These are two very good players. That suggest to me that the way Dons play Waterman would be diluted by two thirds.
I also think, and I know I shouldn't , that Waterman's defensive skills and his ability to turn and go backward are nowhere near his ability at going forward.
I refer the right honourable gentleman to one or two calamities down our left flank in defence, notably against Rochdale.
That's why he should stay at centre.
I also believe that the combination that yields the fewest players playing out of position is best. Or at least not moving far. Wingers have to field balls like full backs do.
To me that means Sando at full back.

| Managed to watch most of the game from a 'not so legal' source. A few observations;
a) Fattest Dons team I have ever seen in my lifetime. Both a weakness and a strength. Strength when it comes to games like today which was won around the ruck, will become a weakness higher up the leagues.
b) Mark Calderwood was a joke today. Worst of all the ex-super league players on show.
c) I am not neutral but I must say the ref was quite biased towards us tonight.
d) I also learned that the top 4 go up yet there is still a play-off system. Is this right? I only half caught it on the commentary? I think the RFL generally run the sport very well but they must of come up with this on the back of a fag packet.

| I was wrong about Waterman, he was brilliant at fullback.

| Fantastic game and don't think the ref was onsided, what I will say is some of workington's vocal support was over the top, I was wacked round the head by some drung erk with a stuffed toy sheep from behind, which made me spill mu beer, and threatened in the bar by some youth with glasses on young enough to be almost my grandson, having said that if he was my Grandson he would have got a clip but because he was a visiting supporter I told him to watch his mouth and walked off.

| Well done boys , we out bullied there big pack . Never seen Cookie do as many tackles. Waterman deserved MoM , but Castle & Robbo both had big games. Sanderson deserves a mention also , well they were all outstanding .

Their gameplan for a lot of the game was just to run at Cooke..

A fairly ineffective tactic then - in fairness to him I've never seen him do a 'Holroyd' and shirk his defensive duties. Whenever the big lads come at him he fronts up and takes it.
