Quote: Stand-Offish "Yes that's good.
But now it will nosedive.
I still think this ref and his buddies tipped this game (not deliberately) at a critical time with poor decisions that cost us and tipped the seesaw in Oldham's favour.
Their fans were almost absent until then vocally and you could sense the relief from them when they got the lucky breaks.
Fair play to them they were the better side and went on to win well.
But if the ref had not stuck his oar in, Donny could have given it a go.
But you can almost sense with these forward passes that the official's response is .....''well what's it matter, the better side is winning, they deserve it.''
It shouldn't be like that.'"
Firstly, attendance - whilst you may think that the crowd was good, the majority were from Oldham, so don't think there is that much to smile about on that front.
I thought Donny were a decent team and if they can learn to control the ball a bit better, could pick up some reasonable results between now and the end of the season (don't mind if you turn Blackpool and Hunslet over!)
As far as the Ref goes, have to agree he was shocking. His interpretation of offside was a joke, and I accept the comment made that we each see our own team's perspective, but I think he just gave up trying to get Donny on side as there was no chance at all. Also for the benefit of "Standoffish" he gave Donny a number of very dubious decisions in the last 15 mins after you had left to try to keep the score down, (knock ons permitted and six to go when clearly lost a few times).
Think despite the ref, quality shone through in the end, and as you would expect from my perspective the right team one, but credit your guys with a good first half performance.
Think some of your forwards need to lay off the pies for a few weeks and get a bit fitter though as they did run out of steam. Although your big lads did cause one shock in the first half - a contested scrum!!!! Haven't seen a team go for that for a long time, nearly paid off as well.
